This is exactly right! Fathers lead the family, the family generally goes the direction the father is going, either toward Christ or away from him.
Even our animals know who the "alpha dog" is, when he is home they follow him around. When he is gone they follow me around.
The children also see the father as a leader even without being told. Its genetics and perfectly natural.
