Never attempt to continue to explain anything to someone who has rejected the information the first time. They must want to know from their own heart in order to receive it.
If they do not receive it the first time then they are choosing to believe what they want about the matter and will twist everything you say.
Until a person is ready to hear it is an exercise in futility to even attempt a discussion about the problem.
O.K. what does one do now?
The believer has a very powerful option that unbelievers do not have. They can go to prayer and even fasting to maintain themselves in holiness.
When we cannot get through to someone who refuses to listen then the most important thing we can do is to keep ourselves from responding in ways that do not glorify God.
The narcissist wants you to blow up in anger, this is why they poke at you with insults and loud voices to cause you frustration. When you blow up they will claim you are the crazy one, it is their favored tactic, in use by many these days.
When that does not work they will "ghost" you, meaning they will refuse to interact with you purposefully to make you feel unloved. When people feel unloved in an extreme way they do crazy things. If they do crazy things the narcissist is gleeful that they have won convincing themselves that they were the same ones and their target deserved what the narcissist did to them.
Never follow your feelings, go to prayer trusting that God has this for you. You will never succumb to the tricks of the narcissist if you are praying to remain calm, the Holy Spirit will control your reactions and give a strong message as to when to walk away.
Believe it or not, God can give you complete peace during these hard times but we must do the battle in prayer.
1. "Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7
2. "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4
3. "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Cor. 10:3-5
