Rejecting the cultural Christianity I grew up with to embrace and enjoy a relationship with Jesus Christ. A place to come and share thoughts about almost anything. Especially things of the Lord. Please no Anonymous posts, I enjoy knowing who is writing to me.

Islam Strikes A Born Again Jew
One of the men murdered in San Burnadino yesterday was a Messianic Jew, who was very vocal about the evil of Islam. I bet you never heard that in the news.
His name was Nicholas Thalasinos! A brother who was martyred this week, went home to be with the Lord.
Right in line with the mentality of the Muslim mind is to murder Jews and Christians, do we get it now, right here in America now we are experiencing the persecution of Islam.

Flattery Kills Relationships
Flattery cannot be defined as encouragement, it is discouraged by God and exposed as manipulation.
Proverbs 26:24-28 "Whoever hates disguises himself with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart; when he speaks graciously, believe him not, for there are seven abominations in his heart; though his hatred be covered with deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling. A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin."

Job 32:21-22 "I will not show partiality to any man or use flattery toward any person. For I do not know how to flatter, else my Maker would soon take me away. "
Proverbs 28:23 "Whoever rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than he who flatters with his tongue."
Psalm 12:3 "May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that makes great boasts,"
Proverbs 27:6 "Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy."
Romans 16:18 "For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive."
Proverbs 28:23 "Whoever rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than he who flatters with his tongue."

Unity Comes From Seeking God Together
We are brothers and sisters in the Lord, it is not necessary to agree perfectly on ever single thing, except when it comes to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, His purpose on this earth and our need to repent and trust Him. Those are crucial doctrines we must agree on.
So many things we disagree about are non-salvation issues and can be interpreted more than one way, they are not absolutely clear, even sometimes when we think they are, our views are often shaped... by our culture and things we were taught when we were new believers.
Luther never gave up his belief in infant baptism. Calvin believed that no one had a choice in their salvation. Other believe in the gap theory, no need for head covering, style of dress and whether or not a woman should work outside the home. There are things that are best based on the principles in the Bible but that do not determine our salvation.
NO ONE.....is believing things perfectly, there is need to be continually asking God for wisdom, throwing off things we have been taught that are in error and trusting what God really taught. We must be challenging one another to greater holiness and to seek God for everything.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken."
Hebrews 10:24 "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,"
Proverbs 27:17 "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another."
1 John 1:3 "That which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ."
1 Peter 3:8 "Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind."
The Unity God commands us to have is not to manufacture human agreement just to get along, but rather to test all things, challenge each one in the word. Christ is our Unity and Truth, when there is a question, His Word is what we go to. What we do not do is allow error just to get alone with one another. If something is a non-salvation issue and we cannot come to an agreement, then we need to let it go while praying for one another.

A Fool For Jesus
When in discussion with people at length and most everything that comes up is of this world whether good or bad, we have an idea what we are dealing with.
Those who love the Lord can only talk about superficial matters a little while then every thing said is interpreted in terms of God's principles and His character.
WE can't help but bring up the Lord, in everything. It is interesting to watch, so many are enthralled with a discussion about food and clothing, but as soon as the Bible is quoted the room goes silent, the looks are embarrassment, as soon as we are through the discussion returns to the superficial mundane and insignificant matters of life.
1 Corinthians 10:31 "Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!"
A believer who thinks about the Lord continually, is one who will have to speak about Him, we think and speak about Him almost as often as we take a breath, that's why others call us fanatics or obsessed. Guilty I am a fanatic for Christ and I am obsessed with Him and His principles.
Matthew 22:37 "And He said to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'"
