Those who love the Lord do not fear death; they look forward to leaving this sin-sick world behind as they gaze in their hearts at what is ahead for those who have trusted in Christ.
Revelation 21:4
"4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
John 14:2-3
"2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
Hebrews 12:22-23
"22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,"
Revelation 7:16-17 "‘Never again will they hunger;
Never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,’
nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’"
Lush gardens, flowing rivers, beautiful buildings filled with precious stones, and streets made of gold. It’s a place where there is no suffering or pain, filled with love, joy, and endless beauty.
Revelation 21:11
"11 having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very valuable stone, like a stone of crystal-clear jasper."
Revelation 22:5:
"And there will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light."
It is not possible to imagine how beautiful and amazing heaven will be, but we might be able to imagine how it might feel to never be sick or experience sadness again.
It is an incredible rebellion that blinds the minds of those who refuse to trust in Christ. Rebellion makes people stupid, rejecting the very thing they clamor for on earth but cannot have because they would rather hang onto their pride than humble themselves before God, who provides everything for eternity that is so wonderful it is beyond our ability to imagine it.
Letting go of pride is only difficult for those who see themselves as gods. Those who know they are nothing compared to God but have been offered a better existence if they will only humble themselves, will bring them an eternity so astounding it can't be envisioned by anyone.
God wants us to love Him first. He does not want people to love what He has to offer while hating Him. This is why I believe He will not show us heaven, many would pretend to love Him just to get there, but have no regard for Him.
When we trust in Christ He provides the love and peace in our hearts that we could never do in our own humanness. However, those who can understand this are only those who have trusted in Him.
1 Corinthians 2:13-15 "…13 "And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 14 The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment."
Romans 8:7-9
"because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ."
Our hope is that many will realize their need for Christ and come to Him out of love not just to get from Him what they want while despising Him.
