Exaggerations and cover-ups are lies. Our culture lives more by their desired imagination than by rational and logical reasoning. When a culture has gone the route of following "feelings" above reasoning, we have lost the culture.
Isaiah 1:18
"18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
One cannot admit their sin if they are fantasizing all the time to feel good. One cannot admit their sin when feeling good takes priority over truth.
Often truth will make us feel bad when we are convicted of the violation of it, this is good!
Conviction and bad feelings over sin are good. They lead a non-believer to repentance and a born again believer to confession to be cleansed.
When all guilt is removed from the culture through false justification of that sin then there is no possibility of reasoning with the one who loves their sin and lies.
James 1:2-8
2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
Removing all discomfort from a culture produces far more problems than it will ever solve.
2 Thessalonians 3:10 "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you: that if any would not work, neither should he eat."
Rejecting the cultural Christianity I grew up with to embrace and enjoy a relationship with Jesus Christ. A place to come and share thoughts about almost anything. Especially things of the Lord. Please no Anonymous posts, I enjoy knowing who is writing to me.

God's Love Verses Satan's Hate
Proverbs 6:12-13
"A worthless person, a wicked man,
Is the one who walks with a perverse mouth,
13 Who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet,
Who points with his fingers;"
A man pointed his finger at me and said; "I don't respect you." He was telling me that he was not respectable because of the sin of rebellion in his own heart but he thought it was against me. Often the narcissist will accuse us of what they are and we are not. It is their way of deflecting blame to avoid facing their own sinful heart.
I knew this because of the continual bossiness and anger that emerged from this mans lips. There was no end to the domination and disrespect demonstrated.
This same person made disparaging remarks whenever he was in my presence claiming they were jokes.
As I prayed about the contempt I saw in these actions God showed me what was happening. This person had a perverse mouth full of lies and anger, pointing his finger in disrespect while acting as though it were all justified.
These are the times we live in, nearly complete and total break down of honor and respect. Love is a byword in our culture, the true love of God I mean. Love in our culture has more to do with choosing to act friendly to those who give us all we want and praise us ad nausium for the smallest matters.
God's love looks nothing like the love of the world and the devil's counterfeit for love.
The devil's kind of love is without standards, sin abounds and everyone endorses the evil that will send many to hell.
God's love saves from sin and hell, is confident about goodness and desires to help others find this kind of love. God shares and convinces through His principles while the devil rages and demeans.
Its God's love I enjoy and His principles that motivate me.

Loving Others For Christ's Sake
We are not loving others for their sake, but for Christ's sake. We are not loving people because they deserve it or measure up, but because Christ loved us when we didn't deserve it, while we were yet in sin.
Sometimes the loving thing is to remain with someone even if they are not acting as they should. Other times loving someone might be to withdraw leaving them to God.
We do not withdraw because someone does not measure up, but because we can no longer help them and they must not be allowed to destroy our walk with Christ.
When we trust Christ we will remain or remove ourselves according to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 4:1
"Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil."
Acts 15:28
"For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials:"
Galatians 5:18
"But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law."
Romans 8:26-27
"In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."
Matthew 10:19-20
"But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say. "For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you."
All these verses tell us that the Holy Spirit will guide us to do and say what we should at the time it is needed. He will tell us to remain or to go according to His wisdom.
Our goal in all we do in obedience to Christ is to ultimately glorify Him, ALWAYS!!!

Our Identity is in Christ Alone
When we find our identity in people other than Christ, then we have an idol. When our identity is rooted in Christ we will not be seeking the praise of men nor the acceptance of them.
This is why I have so little interest in genealogy which is popular today. Seeking genetic past and names on a chart or even the activities of people in bygone days seems to be connected to a lack of identity in Christ and more of an identity in people.
I have little if anything in common with those who came before me. They were dead before I was born. Knowing things about them is not an influence over me, its only facts about them that go in one ear and out the other. They were never a part of my life and will never be unless they died knowing Christ and then we are one in Christ, He is the focus not the person themselves.
When we love Christ he is everything to us. People are factored in only as much as they have known Him. If I never knew anything at all about those who came before me I would still follow Christ.
Knowing things about the ancestors does nothing at all for my spiritual or emotional growth. Perhaps it is even distracting from Christ.
Ancestry worship happens all over the world in pagan religions. Just as everything else that is pagan is creeping into the churches so is the desire to be connected to dead ancestors.
I admit it is interesting to know some things about ancestors, but when it becomes predominant, even seeking to name our children after them, there is an overtone of expectation that naming the children after them will bring some magical blessing.
I fear that with the onset of paganism becoming a big part of modern "Christianity" we will experience things promoted in the churches that were in the early days of the church discouraged and even condemned.
The same people who are diligently searching data bases to find their dead ancestors are the people who are rarely reading their Bible. When we love the truths of God we will have little time to research dead relatives.
The Jews have a good legacy and a reason to want to look back but the Gentiles do not. If we are born again we have been grafted into the Jews and Christ is our legacy.
Hallelujah
1 Timothy 1:4 "1
"4 nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering [b]the administration of God which is by faith."
Titus 3:9
"9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless."
1 Corinthians 15:29
"29 Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?"
God never tells us anywhere in the Word of God to research and know our ancestry except to some extent in the Jewish line.
We are not special because of who we are related to, but because we are born again and in Christ and it is only Him Who is special.
