Confession Moves Us Forward in Holiness!

Yes, all sins, past present and future, are forgiven the believer who has been changed into a new creation by Christ. However, we confess them to God to grow in holiness, we cannot progress if we will not admit we have a problem in an area. We confess to one another to mend relationships, a relationship cannot remain strong if one will not confess their sin against another believer, it will ruin the relationship, just as not confessing to God will keep God from hearing our prayers.

Arguing With God May Send One To Perdition

Matthew 7:21-23

"21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"

Can you imagine being face to face with God and arguing with Him?

"But Lord didn't we do this in your name?"

Wow, rebellious to the very end, right before the Lord throws them into the lake of fire.

Apostasy Came One Drop At A Time

The age of apostasy did not just morph overnight. It was a gradual chipping away at God's principles within the church gatherings. A little cliche here and one there that remained unchallenged by those who knew better, to keep the peace. Rather than being a peace-maker through correction when there was error, we opted to remain silent to make the baby believer "feel" accepted. Avoiding conflict became our god, rather than Christ who promotes holiness.

We thought remaining silent was the polite thing to do while believing a little error is not a big problem. But every little error leads to erroneous thinking on every level for every situation.

When we believe confession of sin is not necessary for spiritual growth, we do not correct or defend truth, hoping the sin will just sort of dissipate away into the atmosphere, leaving no residue or effect on others in the body.

When sin is ignored to have superficial peace, the sin grows until truth is pushed out entirely in favor of worldly friendliness.

Galatians 5:9 "A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump."

There are those that believe they will not be affected by sin in someone else's life, it is simply not true. Every time we ignore sin, we become a little more desensitized to it. We may not participate in the sin itself, but we will never help someone else turn from it and we even become accepting of it ourselves if we are lazy about it long enough. We are of no use to God when we ignore sin.

There are many people in church gatherings who are proud of how accepting of sinning brothers and sisters, they pride themselves as being "tolerant" and "forgiving", when their goal is really to be accepted by everyone and never embarrassed by rejection and mocking.

1 Corinthians 5:6 "Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?"

Non-Believers Watered the Flock

There is an insidiously diabolical lie to appease those who have no real interest in worshiping God, it is the lie that we should be bringing non-believers into the worship of God and the training of the Saints to be equipped to "GO OUT" into the world with the gos diabolical lie that has infiltrated the church, causing believers to be intimidated and manipulated into silencpel.

Sadly many believers are bringing their unsaved family and friends to church rather than witnessing to them. It is easier for the cowardly to let someone else do the work than to become so on fire for the Lord that we do the witnessing in our daily lives ourselves.

Many believers are more concerned about being loved and enjoyed by the non-believer that they will not boldly speak the truth in love to their unsaved acquaintances, fearing rejection and mocking, in a word, they are embarrassed for Christ's sake.

Brothers and Sisters, we need to pray to overcome the fear of man while replacing it with a loyalty to God that creates in us an attitude of irrelevance as to whether or not a person rejects or mocks us. Mankind as a whole rejected and mocked Christ, why would we feel so special that we can escape the same fate when we obey Him?

An excellent article on this subject blessed me so much that I needed to share it. Far too many believers are not obeying the Word of God, even though they claim to do so. They violate so many Scriptures that they should not be claiming to revere and obey the Lord.
