We are living in times when people are worried about everything all the time. Hypersensitive to the slightest innocuous words, making mountains where there are no mountains, angry at nothing worthy of anger. It is the devil's whispers in the ears of those who do not recognize his evil manipulations, that brings all these worthless and destructive feelings.
Arrogance leads people to feel hurt merely for not being seen as special by others. These people are in bondage to their own pride, clamoring irrationally to be superior to others they define their own lives by whether or not others elevate them.
There is no greater bondage than pride that leads to the same fate as the devil. He was thrown out of heaven for wanting to be superior to God. Those who desire to be superior to others can never be happy, they live in a world of continual hurt of their own making.
Philippians 2:2-4 "2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being united in spirit and purpose. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others.…
Joy and peace come to those who think about themselves less than they think of others. When we act in kindness and love no matter what others are doing we will be the most joyful and peaceful of all people."
When we seek to understand others we can develop a lasting, deep and meaningful relationship that lasts for eternity. A competitive spirit destroys any possibility of closeness.
Philippians 1:27
"Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;"
Our purpose in life is not to build up for ourselves praises from others, our purpose in life is to glorify God and edify the brothers and sisters so that they too might walk more closely with Christ.
