Confession Begins the Change
It is only through confession that we see the contriteness of a broken heart. Without confession there remains pride.
Divorce and Remarriage is the Sin of Adultery
Our culture has perverted the Word of God by adding or mistranslating what God actually said to avoid guilt for their sin of divorce and remarriage.
Even those that do not divorce and remarry accept that others do and even encourage it by attending the weddings of divorced couples.
The Jewish custom of divorcing from the engagement was what was mentioned in the book of Matthew that was written to the Jews. The other gospels do not have that exception because they were written to Gentiles that do not have the custom of requiring a certificate of divorcement from an engagement.
