Rejecting the cultural Christianity I grew up with to embrace and enjoy a relationship with Jesus Christ. A place to come and share thoughts about almost anything. Especially things of the Lord. Please no Anonymous posts, I enjoy knowing who is writing to me.

Holy Spirit Leads Us Into All Truth
Next time someone says to you, "This is what that passage means to me", repeat God's word back to them. It doesn't matter what you want it to mean; it only matters what God meant.
2 Peter 1:20-21 "20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation. 21 For no such prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."
There are factions of false Christianity that base their beliefs on what they want God to say and not on what He actually said. They change the word of God to fit their own desires.
1 Corinthians 2:13 "And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words."
1 Thessalonians 2:13 "And we continually thank God because, when you received the word of God that you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it truly is, the word of God, which is also now at work in you who believe."
All born-again believers have the Holy Spirit, and everything the Holy Spirit tells us will align with God's meaning in the Bible. If something we hear in our head does not align with the Bible, then it is not from God but from the evil one.
John 16:13 "However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come."

God is True and Every Man a Liar
Religious leaders today are no different from those of Jesus' day. They hated that Christ disrupted their "religion" and the power over others it gave them.
Religious leaders who have devised a status quo that God never gave did it to control the people. They thought if they could force the people through intimidation to obey God, they would be able to proclaim the followers "Christian."
The truth is no one becomes a Christian or obedient to Christ because someone else intimidated them. If they did come this way, they never became born again
Instead of just bringing the gospel and leaving the result to the Holy Spirit, they trusted in their own message and trickery. They never trusted the Holy Spirit, or they never would have used manipulation and intimidation to control others. They could have preached the truth and left the rest to God.
The modern day preacher doesn't want each person following the Holy Spirit because it would take the power out of the hands of the preachers and placed on the Holy Spirit.
Many years ago, a young preacher was counseled by his Baptist mentors to never allow anyone else in "his" pulpit. Why? Because in the minds of these religious leaders, that was where the power over others existed, elevated above others with all the pews facing forward in a form of worship of the man on that stage.
When a man is the focus in the Christian gathering, then Christ cannot be the focus.
When someone looks to a man, any man, even their husband, as their "mediator" between them and God, they have an idol.
1 Timothy 2:5-6 " 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony that was given at just the right time."
No man gave himself a ransom for us all; only Jesus Christ did that, and He lives in all born-again believers who need no other mediator or teacher.
When any man attempts to play the mediator between God and us we can politely decline to follow him and even rebuke him for his attempts to usurp the Holy Spirit in us.
Hebrews 8:6 "Now, however, Jesus has received a much more excellent ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is better and is founded on better promises."
Galatians 3:20 "A mediator is unnecessary, however, for only one party; but God is one."

They Won's Listen But We Can Be Safe
Jeremiah 6:10 "To whom can I give this warning? Who will listen to me? Look, their ears are closed, so they cannot hear. See, the word of the LORD has become offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it."
This is our world today, most people now resist instruction in righteousness. Most "Christians" are afraid to speak openly about Jesus Christ because they fear losing family and friends.
Proverbs 29:25-26 "25 The fear of man is a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is set securely on high. 26 Many seek the ruler’s favor, but a man receives justice from the LORD."
We live in an age in which there is a "form of religion" we call Christianity, based more on feelings and desired beliefs than on the Bible. It is a form of Christianity liberally peppered with paganism and cultural standards.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 "1 But understand this: In the last days, terrible times will come.
2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good,
4 traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!"
Matthew 24:12 "Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold."
1 Timothy 4:1 "Now the Spirit expressly states that in later times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons,"
2 Peter 3:3 "Most importantly, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires."
Jude 1:18 "When they said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow after their own ungodly desires.”
These kinds of people are not those who are rare or obscure; they are the entire culture all the time. The reason we tend to dismiss attitudes is that we were raised in them, and they feel normal to us.
Those who follow Christ are very few and are not accepted by the rest of the culture.
Romans 1:29-31 "They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful. They invent new forms of evil; they disobey their parents. They are senseless, faithless, heartless, merciless."
Even those who think they are not like these last days people are in many ways, just like them, only a little more hidden.
2 Timothy 4:3 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"
Since we know these are the times we live in and it is not an indictment against us when people despise us, we can be filled with joy at knowing we belong to Christ and He is the One Who keeps us safe from those who wish to destroy us. And, we know we will be going home soon because these things we see are the proof of the end times and it will all be over soon.
