How many times have you attempted to explain the truth to someone who just couldn't seem to hear anything you were saying?
Perhaps you were able to get out a sentence or two and they shut you down before hearing the whole matter. You were left feeling as though you wanted to scream it from the housetop, maybe then they would listen.
NO, it doesn't matter how cleverly you say something or how many times you try to get them to understand, if someone doesn't want to understand then there is nothing we can do anymore.
Remember we only bring the message its God Who convicts the hearer of their sin. If they will not listen there is nothing we can do to further explain God's Word.
Matthew 10:14
"And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town."
2 Timothy 4:3
"For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,"
1 Corinthians 14:21
"In the Law it is written, “By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.”
We are living in that time in history which resembles the time of Noah who preached 120 years and no one would listen. Only 8 people were on that ark when God shut the door. Everyone else in the world drown in the flood Noah warned them about.
Do not be discouraged when you are rejected, God said it would happen. It's not about us, its the angst toward God that the people mock and demean. God can take it, give it to Him.
