If you say you believe in Christ but become angry when His Word is spoken, then you are telling a lie.
Rejecting the cultural Christianity I grew up with to embrace and enjoy a relationship with Jesus Christ. A place to come and share thoughts about almost anything. Especially things of the Lord. Please no Anonymous posts, I enjoy knowing who is writing to me.

The Only Measure of Truth is in the Bible
I have naysayers come sometimes angry about what I write. When the Bible is the measure of truth anger emerges in those who have been trained to believe things that are not true.
All their lives and with everyone around them people have heard the same old mantras they thought were in the Bible, but they were not there. When shown the truth their mind automatically resists it.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 "…2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.…"
"After all, doesn't everyone else believe these things", is their rationalization.
They will tells us we should not correct others when God commands us to do so. They will negate the very things God is telling us to do. We know where this comes from and its not from God.
When we attempt to bring scripture as our proof they will attack our character, lying against us to discredit the truth of God.
When we begin praying, asking Christ in usu to show us truth and study the Bible, Christ in us begins to open our eyes in ways we never expected. What we thought was truth for so many years is nothing more than psychobabble that turns out to be the opposite of what God says.
Our eyes will not be opened if we do not ask God, if we do not study and if we like our mantras more than God's truth.
Think about it.

On the matter of Divorce and Remarriage!
When two people become one flesh by the power of God because of the vows they make in the beginning of the marriage, they are no longer two but one. God said it and I believe it. It is a Spiritual union performed by God. Just because we cannot see it does not mean it didn't exist.
Matthew 19:6
"6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
These two people remain one until their death!
Matthew 19:5-6 " ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
We know that the term "let no man separate" is not a command to not separate, it is a statement of fact that no man can separate what God has joined. The reason we know this is because Christ said that He made them one, no one can undo what God did.
Christ also said that only death separates it, this means that no man can separate it. He also said that if someone marries another in a civil ceremony after a divorce they are committing adultery, not once but an ongoing state of adultery as long as the adulterous couple remains together. A piece of paper by the law of the land does not remove the oneness of a couple joined by God. All human beings who promise in the marriage are joined by God whether they are saved or unsaved.
What is sin for the born again believer is also sin for the unbeliever. This is why the unsaved are on their way to hell, because they never believed on Jesus Christ. They remain accountable to God for all their sin. Born again believers are forgiven and given the power of the Holy Spirit to resist sin. When we fail we hate the sin and confess to be cleansed. Those who refuse to confess even defending their sin have never been born again. No born again believer fights bitterly to defend sin, they are ashamed and want to be cleansed.
The new modern co-habitation of two people is not a "blended family" it is an adulterous family." Those who endorse the second marriage after divorce are participants in the sin of those who defy God to have a second partner. I will call this "partnership" because it is not a marriage but it is adultery.
Many "Christians" today are lying against the Word of God when they proclaim a second partnership after divorce to be a marriage acceptable to God.
No where do we find scripture that says that a second marriage after divorce is acceptable to God. Not one scripture supports or condones it. However there is much evidence that remarriage after divorce is adultery.
Luke 16:18
“Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery.”
These are God's words not mine. The Matthew passage with an exception does not pertain to marriage, it is addressing the Jewish engagement allowance to divorce from betrothal or engagement. In the Jewish culture there had to be a certificate of divorce from an engagement because these marriages were arranged and nearly as binding as marriage with this one exception. So the "exception clause" that so many people speak about has nothing to do with marriage.
Also note that the other gospels written to Gentiles didn't have this "exception" because the Gentiles didn't have a custom of divorcing from an engagement.
Keep in mind too that just two generations ago, believers knew that divorce was wrong based on the entire context of the Bible even when they didn't know the meaning of the "exception clause." Today there are so many people who have been indoctrinated to believe in the exception clause that they can no longer be reasoned with concerning divorce and remarriage. In short, the church is apostate caring little about God's heart or even their own obedience to Him, so they fight to defend that which God has condemned.
Also, most marriages today are not because of physical adultery they are simply not getting along and wish to end the relationship to get another person. These same people forget that Christ called "lusting" in the mind the same as doing the act. If adultery were a reason to allow divorce then nearly every person at some time in their life would have lusted in their heart and worthy of divorce.
Here is an example of the modern mentality on this sin of divorce and remarriage:
I knew of an elder of a church who was divorced three times. Why he was allowed to be an elder is beyond me since God forbids a divorced man to be in leadership.
If a man has a flippant view of marriage he will never be able to help young people or anyone else avoid the sins of divorce and remarriage.
1 Timothy 3:2 "2 An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, "
This passage is not referring to "one wife at a time", but is addressing divorce and remarriage. This overseer must not be a husband having married again after divorce. We know this because the Jews did not have a practice at this time of maintaining two wives at the same time.
Getting back to this elder who had already divorced three times and married two had met another woman he liked. The other elders of his church counseled him not to marry this woman because he was divorced with a living first spouse and the woman he wanted to marry had married three times before and divorced.
When the elder was warned not to marry in adultery as he planned, he spurned the correction and counsel and was removed of his elder position. When he married the fourth wife was asked to leave.
Can you imagine had the church not disciplined him for defying God, that all the young people in this group would have taken sides and some would have been influenced to take marriage lightly as this man did. This is what has happened in the modern church, people are being influenced by disobedient leaders who will not discipline sin and are even involved themselves.
Whenever we defy God's Word we become an example for sin, an encouragement to disobey God as well as coddle those who are in other sins. Coddling leads to greater sin not only in the person sinning but in those watching.
There were two clues as to the character of this man who remarried disobediently. The first clue was that he would stubbornly refuse to listen to the other elders who used the Bible to show him his sin and secondly he married the woman against the Word of God. There was defiance in his heart as well as in the woman's heart. Not to mention the defiance in the hearts of every other person who supported this new partnership and continues to defend it as legitimate.
We live in a world in which the apostate church manages to coddle and endorse sin while bludgeoning the person who attempts to bring the Bible to the discussion.
1 Corinthians 5:1-2 "1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is intolerable even among pagans: A man has his father’s wife. 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have been stricken with grief and have removed from your fellowship the man who did this?…"
The church in Corinth was not discipling the young man, in fact they were proud of themselves for how tolerant they were toward him. This sound exactly like our modern church.
Finally the people of Corinth put out the young man for his sin as they obeyed God after Paul's rebuke. The young man repented, stopped the sin and returned to the fellowship.
God's way brings repentance and confession to those in sin. There is a wonderful healing that occurs in someones soul when they finally obey God.
Our modern tolerant church is growing, even gladly within its walls. Defying Christ while claiming to love Him. We do not defy someone we love. I have to believe that most people in the apostate church today have never been born again or they would not be hostile toward the truth of God's Word.
Most Christians today do not realize the marriage is a picture of Christ and the church.
Ephesians 5:25 "25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her 26 to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,…"
When we defy God's word we show the world how unimportant Christ is to us. Our desires and worldly thinking is more important. Fitting in with unbelievers and loving our sin takes priority over Christ. The gospel of Christ is maligned and many are led astray into apostasy.
If we believe God, then we obey Him. So we must conclude that those who defy God to divorce and remarry do not believe God. So that leads to the question; "if they do not believe God about these things then did they ever believe Him for salvation"? It might be a good idea to tell these people they should go and ask God if they are saved because their rebellion says otherwise.
John 14:21
"Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him."
Wow, look what GOD just said in John 14!!!!!
We live in a day when the apostate church gathering is driving out the authentic believers. The authentic believers are taking refuge in smaller gatherings who are faithful to the word of God.
I am more likely to ask someone who doesn't attend a gathering what did they escape from, rather than why don't they go to church.
