The true test of our Christianity will be how we respond when everything we hold dear is taken away from us.
My hope is that when real national trouble comes many people will see their need for the Savior, repent and become born again.
Galatians 3:3
"3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?"
If our dedication to Christ is based on our cushy life then it is not Christianity at all but rather cultural Christianity, a far different thing.
1 John 5:2
"2 By this we know that we love the children of God when we love God and [a]follow His commandments."
Our life as a born again believer is not dependent on ease of living or pleasure, it is dependent on the promises of God as Christ lives in us.
Proverbs 28:9-10
"9 One who turns his ear away from listening to the Law,
Even his prayer is an abomination.
10 One who leads the upright astray in an evil way
Will himself fall into his own pit,
But the blameless will inherit good."
The cultural Christianity of this country and the world has dominated the church gatherings, so much so that sin abounds in most of them. This form of religion has caused many people and this nation to begin its journey into the pit of darkness as we move further and further away from the principles of the Bible to embrace the one world religion that is all-inclusive except the exclusion of those who are authentically born again.
"Christian" pretenders are biting and devouring authentic born again believers for daring to use the scripture as the standard of living as they seek the Holy Spirit.
What has passed for Christianity for the past 60 years has been pleasure-oriented, paganistic in nature, in practice more than it has been holy.
God's judgment is on this country now and the world for its devilish influence on born again believers. The devils are not wholly to blame, they had the help of discerning and willful Christians who bought into the lies Satan was feeding them.
Matthew 24:24-25 " 24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect if that were possible. 25 See, I have told you in advance.…"
If anyone wants to place blame on the downfall of this country let them look at their own hearts to find the answer. The politicians don't hold the key to this problem, they are nothing more than reflective of the heart of the people.
Proverbs 28:9-10
"9 One who turns his ear away from listening to the Law,
Even his prayer is an abomination.
10 One who leads the upright astray in an evil way
Will himself fall into his own pit,
But the blameless will inherit good."
Born again believers are not saved by obeying the Law, the Law was given to convict the unsaved of their sin so they would repent. However, a born again believer loves the Law because they have the Law, Who is Jesus Christ, living in them. They have become one with the Giver of the Law.
The unsaved who encounter the born again believer is deeply convicted by the Holy Spirit that lives in the born again. They often run away when the conviction is too intense, or they will bitterly fight to defend their sin as well as discredit and malign the believer in Christ to intimidate them into silence.
When they can't cause the believer to respond badly to their attacks they will move on to turn against the believer influencing others for further assaults.
This is the world we live in right now. We are nearing the end of the church age, few are there who follow Christ. Most people are on the wide road to hell. Some believe they are going to heaven but will hear the most frightening words anyone will ever hear when they come before the Lord, here they are, those fateful words.
Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’"
Do you attend church, that does not make you born again!
Do you do good deeds that make you feel good about yourself, that does not make you born again!
Do you tithe, giving your money to the poor! That too does not make you born again!
One thing the cultural Christian almost never does is self reflect to evaluate their lives to see if they have trusted Christ. They merely proclaim what they think they are and live as though they never knew Christ. These people love to judge others and become enraged when they think they are being judged.
This is covered in the passage that Christ spoke about when He said we are not to judge others when we are doing the same things as the person we judge.
The cultural Christian throws out terms like "don't judge", and "you don't know my heart" and other cliches that the Bible clearly negates. The cultural Christian lives by good sounding platitudes but have no idea where they came from or what the Bible teaches about these things.
We know we have moved into the apostate age when most people who say they are Christians are angry or embarrassed at the mention of God's word, especially when it relates to them.
Matthew 10:33-35 "33 But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in heaven. 34 Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.…"
We have witnessed the widespread disrespect in the 40 something generation as they treat their parents and grandparents with monstrous disrespect. Families will love one another as long as those members accept all their sin as though it was good.
Those who will be treated shamefully are those who stand on the Word of God. Those who do not bend to the culture and the false doctrines will be mocked, shamed and abandoned.
It is not possible to change the hearts of others, that is God's business. Many people will march into hell with the same hardened heart that had all their lives. They will not regret their attitudes and actions until they are in the burning fires. However, even then they will regret that they are there but not that they hated God.
When God said there will be gnashing of teeth in hell He was not speaking of it from pain but from anger. Even in hell those who go there will be angry at God still. They will wail in pain and gnash their teeth in anger.
Matthew 13:41-43 "…41The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will weed out of His kingdom every cause of sin and all who practice lawlessness. 42And they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.…"
We are so close now to the end of the church age and the beginning of the tribulation that we should not be surprised as anything we see happening.
Revelation 22:12-17 "12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely."
Hallelujah!!!!!! We know what's coming and where we are going, we have reason to rejoice.
