It's Quiet Simple Really

The gospel is so simple and yet so hard to believe.

Many people want to be a part of their own salvation, they think "easy" is not enough, it must be harder to be good.

Christ made it so easy that anyone can come to Him, all they have to do is confess they are a sinner unworthy to be with God in heaven.

OH Wait.....I get it, that's the hard part for rebellious unbelievers, they hate the idea of submitting to anyone else, even if that submission will give them an amazing inheritance in heaven without problems or sickness forever.

Pride is a huge thing, once it is swallowed and humility emerges, most problems go away, but the rebellious ones seem to be willing to hold onto the problems to spare their pride. This makes no sense to the rational believer who has had to admit their sin and be cleansed. Most of life's problems can be solved by the swallowing of pride and the display of humility.

Anyone who cannot confess sin to one another to be reconciled, will never confess to God to be cleansed.

Pride, Pride, Pride.....at the root of all problems and lack of solutions.

Proverbs 16:17-19 "…17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil; He who watches his way preserves his life. 18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling. 19 It is better to be humble in spirit with the lowly Than to divide the spoil with the proud.…"

The Rejection Brings Strength in the Lord

I love people and desire friends who love God, but am not willing to compromise my faith to have worldly friends. Praise the Lord, He is all we need.

Having been rejected mostly all of my life, I can say that I praise the Lord that it drove me to Him, causing me to be able to stand alone. If we can see our rejection as a tool to show us the power of God and to reveal the wickedness of man, we are well equipped to resist the wiles of the devil.

Remember Jesus Christ was rejected by most people, the very people He created.

Proverbs 18:24
"24 A man of too many friends comes to ruin,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."

James 4:6-8 "6 But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.…"

All Things Made New

When Christ said, "all things have been made new", He was not referring to remarriage. He was referring to the Spirit of God having replaced the spirit of man when man confessed his sinfulness.

God never endorses any sin after someone has been born again, just the opposite, those who are made new want to be cleansed of their sin.

The assertion that because "all things are new" means the remarriage after divorce is now sanctified by Christ, is ludicrous. This is a classic twisting of the scripture, cherry picking to be able to justify sin.

Don't Let the Devil

The devil can manipulate our emotions as another sister wrote about today on another post. He can also make us happy about things that should make us sad or convicted.

The devil can make us hate those we should love and love those who dishonor and hate God.

The devil can bring about situations that confuse us, so much so we don't know which way to turn or what to do.

HOWEVER, the good news is that we don't have to be manipulated by the devil, we can pray for wisdom, ask God to change our confused heart and begin to live for Him. The devil will never stop trying but his efforts come to nothing because Christ in us defeats his plans.

We must stop allowing the devil to have a foothold in our lives by acting impotent and beggarly in terms of our spiritual strength. Christ is our strength, what more would we need than that!!!!!

1 John 4:3-5 "…3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is already in the world at this time. 4 You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world. That is why they speak from the world’s perspective, and the world listens to them.…"

Matthew 5:6 "6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.…"

Trust in God Alone

Psalm 62

Trust in God Alone
For the choir director: according to Jeduthun. A Davidic psalm.

1 I am at rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from Him.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my stronghold; I will never be shaken.

Mother Theresa an Heretic

I know I may get myself into hot water with some people for saying this, but the Holy Spirit is nagging at me to do this.

There are those who remain Catholic while claiming all the things Evangelicals claim in terms of salvation. However, the Evangelical will say the words "saved by grace", meaning that we cannot earn our salvation, while the Catholic who claims "saved by grace", meaning each time they do a good deed they earn a few more graces, increasing their chances of earning heaven. No one is ever told how many good deeds or graces necessary or whether or not any of it will gain them salvation.

At the end of her life, "Mother Theresa", was in great turmoil, not knowing if she would see heaven, even not sure she had any faith left. Theresa worked her entire life to gain heaven, but at the end of it she never felt she did enough. Since her goal was to gain heaven by her works, it was not important if she actually helped the people she served, only that she gained points toward salvation.

She denied Christ when she claimed to many Hindu practicing people that they would be a better Hindu if they added Jesus Christ to their faith in the dependence on self for salvation and that God is in everything, all people are saved and at different levels of Karma.

So many "Evangelicals" embrace Mother Theresa based on the works that she did with the poor, but those works were of no value compared to their lost eternity. She fed, clothed and helped them medically but helped them place one foot in hell as they continued their heathen beliefs in self and other false gods. She was adamant that whatever you wanted to believe about God, no matter what it was, that was the way for you. She was clearly a "universalist", God in everything and everyone! In her estimation there was no need for repentance, for trusting Christ alone or for truth as written in the Bible. She did not promote the Bible, Christ or salvation by grace alone, she worked against and opposite to the very truths of the bible.

A quote from Mother Theresa:
"Our purpose is to take God and his love to the poorest of the poor, irrespective of their ethnic origin or the faith they profess. Our discernment of aid is not the belief but the necessity. We never try to convert those whom we receive to Christianity but in our work we bear witness to the love of God’s presence and if Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, or agnostics become for this better men—simply better—we will be satisfied. It matters to the individual what church he belongs to. If that individual thinks and believes that this is the only way to God for her or him, this is the way God comes into their life—his life. If he does not know any other way and if he has no doubt so that he does not need to search then this is his way to salvation."

I would challenge believers to stop calling Mother Theresa a wonderful Christian woman, it defies the truth about salvation, as being saved by grace through faith in Christ alone. When ever a Christian validates Mother Theresa because of her good works, they invalidate Jesus Christ as the sole way to salvation.
