" For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."
2 Timothy 4:3-5
This would include all of the Bible, many things most Christians dismiss as unimportant as if there is anything God said that was unimportant.
When someone resorts to accusations such as "mean spirited", lacking humility or other character flaws while in a discussion we know that person has no interest in what we are saying. Its time to move on to those who would have an interest.
When we explain our views based on Scripture and the come back is that we lack character, then we know the discussion is not going to be about the subject but a desire to tear us personally down to discredit what we are saying.
It is wise when we want to tear down unbiblical arguments that we stay to the discussion without adding the mocking and intimidation of character assassination.
This method of attacking someone's character to discredit their argument is clearly childish and has no value in demolishing their argument.
If we do not like what someone said the mature response is to address what they said and provide scripture to prove our argument about the subject matter.
John 15:17-19 "17 This is My command to you: Love one another. 18 If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first. 19 If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.…"
Character assassination to intimidate is a clear sign that there is a contempt for us more than a desire to consider someone's views. In fact, there is no desire to consider someone's views when we have exposed the idol of the hearer who attacks us personally.
We can expect more people in our time to hate rational discussion. Our culture is more based on feelings than facts. They love their illusions and pretenses far more than they enjoy and love truth.
Galatians 4:16 "Have I, therefore, become your enemy because I tell you the truth?"
If you love the truth and do not want to be deceived by anything you will understand what I am saying.
We must ask ourselves whether we love God more than we love the kindness of others. In this world, we will meet with rejection for telling the truth. When we are judged badly for exposing truth then we must move on from those who are hostile to those who value us. We will not always agree on things, but we must not treat people with contempt when they differ from us on something.

We are surrounded now by disinformation not only from the left, the liberals but also on the side of the right, the conservatives. No one is exempt from the spreading of this false information.
We are dealing constantly with conservatives who claim to be Christian who are relying on their "feelings" and "fears" to motivate them into researching false information from the standpoint of love for drama.
When you hear new information that sounds more like sci-fi stories than it does reality, it might be. I am not saying everything that sounds very strange is disinformation rather I am saying that much of the conspiracy theories are just that, theories.
2 Thessalonians 2:3

Just because someone agrees with a particular philosophy that you share does not mean everything they say is true.
Luke 16:18 ""Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery."

If you believe the "great deception" is not here yet then you have been deceived yourself.
Many deceptions in the form of conspiracy theories, political lies, and false preachers in the apostate pulpits are here now in full force.
When we take a break from all the news, all the deceptive verbiage and stories we see floating around, our eyes begin to see that nearly everything going on in our world today from soup to nuts is deception.
The persona that the politicians, no matter who they are, is the one they wish for their constituents to see. If you believe that Trump or anyone else in politics are showing their real selves then you are already deceived.
Having been involved in politics I know what a politician shows you in public is often nothing like his private life. These people are trained and encouraged to show the public what the public wants to see.
If the politician knows there is a voting block of people out there who have not been voting, they will find a way to say what that block wants to hear to draw them into the poles. That voting block for many years has been Christians.
Yes, the politicians who are savvy about their constituency will say what that voting block wants to hear, even do things that they think will impress that voting block, good deeds, and friendly waves while behind the scenes sporting a very different agenda.
Having said all this I want you to know that I do vote and I only vote for those who "say" they are against abortion. I have no way of knowing if they are telling the truth.
However, if a president did have strong convictions about murdering babies he would not attempt the incremental abolition of it, he would abolish it completely through an act of "emancipation proclamation" as Lincoln did with the slaves.
Murdering human beings is a very big sin beyond the pale. There is no president or politician who would make such a bold move because they know our country is evil and they would immediately be voted out of office.
Do not be so quick to jump on the bandwagon for a person who claims to be Christian. Anyone can say anything they like it does not make them what they claim to be.
The brand of Christianity in our country is an apostate one based on feelings and words, not on the Bible. I know this because more of the Bible is being violated than obeyed by these who attend the apostate rebellious gatherings of our day.
When we know the Bible we will see the words that are used to hide the "one world religion" agenda lurking underneath.
God is disciplining our country because we are play-acting more than we are authentic. We claim Christ and then many become angry when they hear the truth, they love their traditions, their politics, and their safety in a prosperous country.
If this nation were, to be honest, they would have to say they are not concerned about the evil here as much as they are about their own personal safety and prosperity. This is the very reason so many people follow the charlatan prosperity preachers.
As born again believers our mindset ought to be to lead people to Christ rather than saving the country for our own pleasure.
Come on now!!! Fess up!!!, What we really want is our own comfort and safety. If this were not true every born again believer would be speaking out boldly for Christ without regard to the mean responses of our culture. But guess what, most do not even live it let alone speak up.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 "…2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears, they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."
