Glorifying Man or Glorifying God

When man does the work without the Holy Spirit, then the men are glorified; when the Holy Spirit does the work in the man, God will be glorified.

John 16:13-14 "13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you."

Evangelicalism is a System not a Calling

Evangelicals think their system is working because of the numbers it brings in, whether or not anyone's hearts have been changed into a new creation, as long as they can get people to say they are Christians, they consider themselves as having converts.

Sadly, these converts are converted to their system instead of to Christ. We know this is true often because of the number of people who claim to be Christians but defy much of God's Word and fight against truth when it doesn't suit their desired cultural methodology.

Just ask the average person on the street if they have ever been born again, and they will tell you which church they attend, not how they found and trusted in Christ.
God called men who brought the gospel "evangelists," not "evangelicals" as a system, men of God who brought the truth of the gospel to the world. Man turned the act of bringing the gospel into a system. Whenever this happens, it becomes about method instead of Holy Spirit unction.

Using all sorts of tricks, rules, and enticements, Evangelicals have managed to grow rapidly as they dumbed down the gospel, adding man-made rules to keep people in obedience to them instead of Christ.

People influenced by the system of Evangelicalism are, in their minds, joining a club that serves them and keeps them safe.

This is the reason so many people joining the club follow the club rules, whether or not they are Biblical, and bring in a few of their own influences and rules as they change the nature of the club.

2 Peter 1:16
Eyewitnesses
"16 For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty."

2 Timothy 4:2-4 "…2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.…"

This passage was written to the church, demonstrating the dangers of turning from the Holy Spirit, leading to human formulas and rituals. The Holy Spirit is no longer sought for truth, and the Bible is used as a book of suggestions from which to choose. Obeying the Word has become legalism to those who have denied the Word of God while claiming to be Bible believers.

They deny Christ every time they negate the Bible and embrace human leadership rather than the Holy Spirit.

John 16:13-14 "13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you.…"

When man follows man instead of the Holy Spirit, it will be man who is glorified. When it is the Holy Spirit Who leads men, then God will be glorified.

Pride the Enemy of the Born Again Believer

Pride is your enemy! When we respond in anger to someone who provokes us, we are giving them power over us. Strength is not needing to prove a point or win over someone else.

Those who provoke others are weak, emotional children without filters, with no ability to discuss matters in an adult-like manner to resolve something. Resolving matters so everyone is considered is not anything the rager wants; they love the tension and fight foolishly thinking if they can irritate others, they are more powerful, when really they are without control and power.

Adults want to resolve things for the best of both parties involved. Emotional infants want only to win, no matter how silly the win might be, or at least a win in their own mind it is a win.

Proverbs 29:8-10 "…8 Mockers inflame a city, but the wise turn away anger. 9 If a wise man goes to court with a fool, there will be raving and laughing with no resolution. 10 Men of bloodshed hate a blameless man, but the upright care for his life."

Ecclesiastes 7:9
"Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger settles in the lap of a fool."

Matthew 7:6
"Do not give dogs what is holy; do not throw your pearls before swine. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces."

Fools become angry easily, while wise men do not!

Leaving out Words or Passages is to Lie Against God

2 Timothy 4:3-5 "…3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."

We are living in times just like this, in which most people prefer their cultural pleasures and ideas than they do truth. There is more fantasy occurring than authentic honesty.

Recently, as I pondered all the lies in the Christian church today,y I realize once again just how apostate the church gatherings are with no sign of slowing down.
Most Christians, with rare exceptions, have accepted divorce and remarriage as normal and acceptable without regard to what God said.

1 Corinthians 7:10-11 "… 10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11 But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife."

He also said; Mark 10:11-12 "… 10 When they were back inside the house, the disciples asked Jesus about this matter. 11 So He told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. 12 And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”

The word "adultery" denotes an ongoing state of adultery as long as the couple remains together. This passage in Mark has been ignored by nearly everyone with the exception of a few.

The practice of many people now is to leave out a sentence to make a passage say what they like to hear. Adding words to the Bible that God never said and ignoring words He did say.

Most Christians have accepted the false teaching that we must forgive those who are unrepentant, leading many to believe they are saved even if they never repent.
Luke 17:3-4 "…3 Watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to say, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”

The false teaching that we should never judge others is so widespread that it can be overwhelming at times. We experience mean looks and isolation for speaking the truth, while those who speak the lie remain popular and accepted.

John 7:24 "24 Stop judging by outward appearances, and start judging justly.”

Matthew 7:1-2
“Do not judge, or you will be judged. For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

This passage tells us not to judge others for things we are also doing.

Romans 2:1-3
"You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on another. For on whatever grounds you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. And we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, O man, pass judgment on others, yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment?"

This passage does not say not to judge; it says not to judge by appearances or others when we are doing the same things ourselves. We are commanded to judge righteously according to God's Word.

Matthew 7:3-5
"3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and look, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye!"

This passage does not say not to judge it is saying be sure you are not doing the same thing you are judging others for doing.

In the following passage, we see that Jeremiah was writing to a particular group of people, the exiled Jews. It is not proper to apply this passage to anyone but to whom it was written. It does have lessons for us, but the passage is not a promise to Christians.

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

The next passage was not a promise to all people; it was a promise to those who love God and are following Him. Unbelievers do not have this promise.

Romans 8:28
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

This verse is not about achievement or physical strength; it is about spiritual strength and contentment in all things for those who follow Christ.

Matthew 7:7
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

This passage is telling us that if we desire true righteousness, He will give it to us.

Mark 10:27
“With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
The things that are possible with God are those things that are His will for us. If God calls us to something He will provide what is needed, not according to our fleshly desires but according to His perfect will.

All Scripture must be read in the context of all the other passages around it and within the context of the entire Bible. All of the Bible has lessons for us, but not all things were written to us.

Those promises that were given to the Jews in the Old Testament do not pertain to us today. They teach us lessons about God, but they are not promises to us.

Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it"

This passage is not a guarantee that a child will do the right thing if they are raised right; it is a warning that if we do not train them well, they will follow the path of unrighteousness that comes naturally for them.

We know that it is not a guarantee because of the examples of David and Absalom, of Saul and Jonathan. Absolom defied his father and plotted to kill him, and yet David was called by God "the Apple of God's eyes." Jonathan did not go the wicked way of his father; he chose the way of God and was a good friend with David.

We must obey God in our efforts to raise children, but the children will be responsible for their own choices as adults.
,
Ezekiel 18:20 "The soul whose sins shall die, the son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him himself and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself."

So many Scriptures have been warped to say things that are not only not true they work against God. The twisted scriptures are based on the cultural desires of those who wrongly interpret them. Depraved minds full of rebellion working to develop their own religion that satisfies the masses have taken hold more than the truth.

Matthew 6:33
"33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

God told us to seek Him first, and the wisdom will be given to us.
