Have you been attacked recently for your beliefs? It is common in a culture that is insecure about what they really believe.
I write on the subjects a lot of people avoid because God often counters the very things in the culture that the culture believes are ideas from God but are opposite of what He says.
When we write our views on a subject and people come to mock us about those beliefs or convictions we are encountering a narcissist. These people must demean anyone who does not think the way they do. They cannot simply disagree they must squash any ideas that are not their own.
Narcissists are not satisfied with staying on their own page to make their own views known, they must go to the pages of others to squash anyone who speaks about things they don't personally like.
If you don't believe me just write about a controversial subject and watch the trolls emerge. I had one person tell me I was wrong for deleting argumentative statements that demean others on my own page. It is interesting that these kinds of people have their own page to write on where they can say anything they like, but they are not satisfied with that, they must make you do on your page what they like too.
Narcissists are people who must be in control of others all the time. If they cannot control you as a friend they will discard you and get one they can control.
Proverbs 18:1-3 "1He who isolates himself pursues selfish desires; he rebels against all sound judgment. 2A fool does not delight in understanding, but only in airing his opinions.3With a wicked man comes contempt as well, and shame is accompanied by disgrace.…"
I am not sure if this is the case in the previous verse but it makes sense to me that isolation is not necessarily removing oneself from others, but rather being in the presence of others while disregarding them or anything they say and do, as a form of isolation. In other words, they are isolated in the sense that they only give validation to themselves and others who validate them. They love to be in a crowd but they are the only important ones in that crowd.
Proverbs 18:1 "Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions."
They isolate themselves from the influence and the ideas of others to be able to stand out as superior.
When we see this happening it is wise to avoid it. These people cannot learn from the examples or ideas of others and will only cause division merely because of obstinance. People are not important to these people, they want an audience to worship them without any regard to the needs of others.
Proverbs 1:5-7 "Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables, the words of the wise and their riddles. Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline."
Proverbs 26:11 "As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness."
If we want to be wise we must listen to an argument, unless we already have heard it, and then research it, pray about it and make a decision on it before arguing.
Most people in our day will not speak long enough or listen long enough to have an actual discussion. The reason is that we are a fast-food culture, having a discussion on an important matter would take time away from pleasures and useless plans. Most people in our day have already decided what they wish to believe based on cultural standards, having no desire to learn if those standards are correct.
Proverbs 18:2
"A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion."
God tells us how not to be a fool and how to become wise; read His word, pray for understanding and obey what He tells us.
