If you want forgiveness, all you have to do is ask for it.
Christ died for all and tells us that if we believe on Him, His forgiveness is available to us and we will be born again.
When we confess our sinfulness and trust that Christ paid the penalty for us, then He will send the Holy Spirit to come and dwell in us until He takes us home either through death or through the rapture, whichever comes first.
YES, it really is that simple. After that if we read the Bible and seek Christ for specific answers to our life situations, He will instruct us, we don't have to guess we can seek Him until we receive the counsel of the Holy Spirit.
John 16:13-14 "13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you.…"
Why would ungodly people enjoy us?
The answer is simple, they see no boldness in us for Christ.
When we love Christ, our enthusiasm for Him will aggravate those who live in darkness.
Even when we love them, do good to them and even bless them often, they will find a reason to mock and demean what we do because they have a spirit in them that hates righteousness and kindness. They love to judge things that are not worthy of judgment and cry foul when we see what they are doing.
These people would rather we treat them badly so they have something against us, but when we don't, they think up things to hate about us that no one else would think twice about.
To the unregenerate mind everything we do is irritating to those who hate righteousness. Even if we offer them a gift they will find fault with that gift to make it appear that we have done something wrong.
Whether it be a kindness, a blessing or correction, no matter what it is, they will find fault because of their obsession with discrediting the one they hate. When they see they have no effect, that they cannot cause us to explode to validate their claims, then they will flee, even blaming that on us.
If we compromise our walk with Christ to keep ungodly family and friends pleased with us, we will become like them. Soon, if we hang out with them continually, others will see no difference in us from the ungodly. We will blend in like a Chameleon, our colors have changed to accommodate our surroundings.
When we speak boldly what we love and believe, those who are ungodly will despise it and us. They will work to destroy our reputation, our friends and anything else they can ruin for us.
2 Timothy 3 tells us what we are observing and what to do about it. "From such turn away" God says in verse 5.
When we encounter opposition, we speak the truth and walk away when we see it is not being received. If we are not strong enough to speak the truth or to walk away then we must pray for the courage and strength to obey Christ in this.
The enemy of our soul loves to see us fail, those who work to make this happen are gleeful when they have managed to make us fall. Don't let them, know their tactics, retain your prayer life and joy, while turning the evil man or woman over to Satan to be dealt with by God.
Darkness is the absence of light!
John 1:4 "…4 In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
Proverbs 28:1 "1 The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion."

Not only must we remove evil things from our lives but also evil people who will not body the Word of God.
We become over time, just like those whom we hang around.
1 Corinthians 15:33
"33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”"
Even more dangerous than ungodly company who refuse to hear truth is the so called Christian who will not obey God and will not listen to correction.
