The Dangers of Superfical Faith by Scott Colvin
What causes superficial faith?
Fear Mark 5:36
Wanting praise from people John 5:44
Not putting the work into our faith John 6:29
Deceit John 8:44-47
Not being able to hear God’s voice John 10:26-27
Having a hard heart John 12:37-40
Doubt John 20:24-27
Read Romans 4-5. It provides a great guide on how to develop deep and lasting faith.
Facing Facts Romans 4:18
Not wavering from God’s promise Romans 4:20
The secret to righteousness Romans 4:22
Why we can rejoice with suffering Romans 5:3
Why we need to endure Romans 5:4
How we develop real hope Romans 5:5
He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel. Psalm 103:7
Yep, if we could lose our salvation we would have to fall right out of heaven.
Melanie A. Adams said this:
"Identity in Christ"
"I am a citizen of heaven":
"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."
Philippians 3 : 20
1 Corinthians 2 : 14 -16
"The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.
'For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?' But we have the mind of Christ."
Yes, the Jews used to have a saying as a greeting. Before Israel was a state, upon leaving one another's presence they would say, "next year in Jerusalem."
I am impressed with this because their faith in the OT promises was so great that each year they hoped it would happen. That's how I feel about the rapture. Next year at the marriage supper of the Lamb.
The Jews no longer say that to one another, because in 1948 their hope was fulfilled, now a greater hope is coming to believers in the rapture and the Jews when they become saved during the tribulation.
Sadly there are those who are preaching a gospel of works or steps to gain salvation. There is only one way to become born again, that is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 16:30-31 "…30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.” "
After that, He does all the work in us!
Ephesians 2:10
"10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, then He comes to live in us and begins the lifelong process of cleansing us from our sins. He opens our eyes to truth while giving us experiences to see the sin that needs to be confessed.
Hebrews 12:5-7 "…5 And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, or lose heart when He rebukes you. 6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives as a son.” 7 Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?…"
Hebrews 12:8 "… 8 If you do not experience discipline like everyone else, then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. "
