Growing and Changing all the Time is the Life of a Believer

We should be growing and changing all the time as we seek Christ. The more we know Him the more we see in ourselves that needs work. He is the One Who does the work in us, all we have to do is confess it and then He goes to work cleansing us.
1 John 1:9
"9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
We have no excuse to fail because it is not our own effort, it is our confession and God's work in us.
Ephesians 2:10
"10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
We can never legitimately use the excuse that we are not perfect, we can always confess our flaws and ask for cleansing. Then we can ask the Lord to reveal anything in us that we cannot see about ourselves.
When we are born-again we know we are not perfect but we are not comfortable in that imperfection because we are always looking at Christ and comparing ourselves with Him.
When we compare ourselves with others we will always see someone who is worse than ourselves. But when we compare ourselves with Christ we know there is more work to be done in us.
No one is better than someone else and no one is worse than someone else, everyone is "desperately wicked", it is only Christ Who is Good!!!!! When we know this we have no pride left in us, no boasting and no comparing ourselves with others.
Humility comes when we know only Christ is good. We have no need to impress anyone because there is nothing good in us except Christ, because we know this we walk in joy and peace without the inward pressure to perform for others. It is only God we wish to please. Hallelujah!!!!!

Why Did God Punish Everyone for What Adam and Eve Did?

Someone asked the question, "why did God punish everyone over what Adam and Eve did in the Garden, rejecting God to follow the lies of the devil?
Here was my answer:
"God knew that the nature of man would choose sin before choosing God. It was the nature of man that God had to change through acceptance of Christ and what He did on that cross. When we became born again the "WAY" we thought changed and we no longer wanted to sin."
"All human beings would do what Adam and Eve did if they were given the same choices. We know this by what people do automatically before they are born again."
"It wasn't the particular sin that God punished Adam and Eve about, it was their propensity to choose sin over God."
The punishment was given to make life more difficult, helping them realize they needed God. Mankind would never choose God if things were easy, they would roll along enjoying life never thinking of Him.
Romans 3:20 "
because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin."
It was the sinful heart that God had to deal with, showing mankind just how sinful they are before they will see their need for God and be grateful for what He provided, even the shedding of the blood of His only son Jesus Christ to redeem man.
When anyone says to us God does not love us because of the punishment, be sure and tell them, He died a brutal death and was separated from His Father to save us, it is not possible to have more love than that.
He also made it so easy it's hard for some to believe it would be that easy. All we have to do is confess we are sinners and trust in Christ and He does all the changing and cleansing, after that He takes us home to live with Him in paradise forever.
Couldn't get any easier or more wonderful than that.
Some may say; "but I lost all my friends", or "life seemed to have gotten harder", yes, but these are trials God goes through with us, we are not alone. We must go through the trials to build our faith and trust in Christ. People are lazy when things are easy, God allows us "no pain, no gain" as some would say, in order to build spiritual muscles and wisdom that lasts for eternity.
What we learn through our Spiritual BootCamp will serve us in the Millennium and into the new earth forever. Hallelujah!!!

The Change is Real, Permanent and Done by God

If salvation does not bring a dramatic change in the way we think then it was not authentic, but only a mental decision. When Christ changes us because we want to be changed then it will be so dramatic that others notice something is very different.
2 Corinthians 5:17
"17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

What Does God Say Love Is?

What is love? God tells us in these verses!

1 Corinthians 13:4–8a "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth."

You Will Know them by their Fruit

Most Christians have been taught more of psychology than they have been taught the trust of the Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit not the culture for wisdom.
If everyone who is born-again would ask the Holy Spirit to show them the truth about everything they have been taught and then search the Word to find out what God says about it, paying attention to His words, they would see that most of what we were taught in the culture was wrong.
1 Corinthians 3:18-20 "18 Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become a fool, so that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” 20 And again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”…"
The world will think we are foolish when we don't think the way they do, when we think with the mind of Christ.
It is the ways of the world that we have been brain-washed with our entire lives. The culture has perverted all of their ways to follow their feelings and enhance self worship, calling it "self-esteem." No where in the scripture does God call "self-esteem" a good thing. God said we are to esteem others better than ourselves.
Philippians 2:3 "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem the other better than himself."
Here is what God says "self-esteem" produces.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous (ragingly insane) times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
There are many other principles that have been perverted to bring about the opposite of what God says in His Word.
The teachings on forgiveness is also one of these false worldly teachings.
Notice how we almost never hear a mantra shouting "confess, confess, confess", the emphasis is on forgiveness without confession to guilt the victims into forgiving an unrepentant person. Why are the people not guilted into repenting when they are the perpetrators?
It is easy to answer this, the devil has perverted God's ways to protect offenders while harming victims of offenders.
I knew of a man who came to church, everything out of his mouth was the opposite of what God said in His word. The man was stubborn, rebellious and mean-spirited demeaning and mocking while lying against the Word of God. When we see this we know we are dealing with more than just human stubbornness, it is demonic. Devils often will influence the thinking of people to make them believe they are right and others deserve their rage.
The anger and the rage is the proof there has been no born again experience. God said "you shall know them by their fruit." Do not allow a rager to lure you into fighting with them. Remain silent, remove yourself and leave them for God to handle.
Matthew 7:15-20 "15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them."
Fruit of the Spirit is as follows:
Galatians 5:22-23
"22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
Pretenders can appear to have this fruit but will lose all of it as soon as you address problems with their theology or attitudes.
You know who they are if you have enough time spent with them.

Calling on the Name of Jesus Christ

Lots of people who claim to call upon the name of the Lord have false motives, to be accepted by others or to pretend they love God when they only want to appear so.
Matthew 7:21-23 "21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"
We must read all scripture in the context of the rest of the Bible. Words do not mean very much unless they are backed up by a lifestyle change. But not a change that we do, it is the change that Christ does in us when He sees we are sincere in our repentance and desire to be changed by Him.
Then He makes us into a new creation. God will not make into a new creation anyone who does not want to be changed by Him. He will not change anyone who is pretending with selfish motives and only "says" things to be accepted.
Our confession of sinfulness must be according to a "contrite" heart, meaning a heart that has been crushed by the knowledge of just how sinful we are and how much we have hurt the heart of God.
God said "you shall know them by their fruit", which is the fruit of the Holy Spirit which is "love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, self-control and longsuffering."
If someone claims to be a Christian but nothing has changed in their life, they still live rebelliously against God's principles and the fruit is missing, then that person was never born-again, as we see in Matthew 7:21-23.
When a person rages at us for pointing out a sin in their life that is harming others, then that person is not born-again. At the very least the person confronted should feel ashamed and desire to clear things up if there has been a misunderstanding. Those who desire to confess their sinfulness to be cleansed by God of that sin will act humble and saddened that they have harmed someone else and especially that they have been disrespectful of God and others.
1 John 1:9
"9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
It is possible that our challenge to a brother or sister who is sinning will be met with resistance, but eventually, if they are saved they will be contrite (crushed) and want to make things right.
When appearances are first and foremost in someone's life far more than obedience to God, we have met a pretender. Authentically born-again believers hate it when they sin, they do not rest until they fix what was wrong and openly confess sin. Their heart is more concerned about hurting God and our witness as believers than they are about their own reputation as a good person.
If you are born-again do not ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit. He will tell us if we have been falsely accused or if we are guilty of something. We need not wallow in self denigration, we can dismiss a false accusation or confess to be cleansed if we were guilty. The longer a person covers up their own sin and willfully ignores the warnings of others the more hardened their heart becomes.
God will go silent for the believer who hardens their heart, and will not hear any cries from the unbeliever who will not confess their sinfulness to be born-again.
If anyone hardens their heart and refuses to submit to God and His other children, God will further harden it to the point they cannot unharden it anymore. This is a very scary place to be for anyone.
Hebrews 3:7-9 "7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear His voice, 8 do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion, in the day of testing in the wilderness, 9 where your fathers tested and tried Me, and for forty years saw My works."
Hebrews 3:12-13
"Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God…'"
The last verse here is warning "Christians" to see if they are really in the faith, those who are not are the pretenders who will depart from the faith having lost their strength to carry on in it because God never changed them into a new creation. They were attempting to do their walk in the flesh because of their unbelief in Christ.
So many people live by "their own words" while negating and ignoring the Words of God. They are stubborn and rebellious determined to do as they please rather than submit to God.
Matthew 4:17
"From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Regretting Past Sins is of No Value

Regretfulness about our sinful past after Christ has cleansed us is not a very useful tool in our Christian walk for the born-again believer.
When we have been forgiven of our sins and God remembers them no more against us, continually calling them to mind does nothing useful for us.
Our focus as Christians ought not to be the past regrets but we ought to be focused on the fullness and newness of life Christ gave us when He changed us into a new creation. Romans 6
Moving forward in holiness and service to God will only be hindered by sadness and regret over something that is in the past and will not be changed.
Only the devil resurfaces memories of past sins to debilitate us, keeping us from speaking boldly about sin. There are those who act as though we have no authority to speak against sin because we were once sinners. If this were true then no one would ever have the authority to speak against sin, because all have sinned.
Speaking openly of our past to show others what a wonderful thing Christ did in saving and changing us is a good thing, but if it brings debilitating sadness and regrets it offers no hope for the ones who remain in their sins. Why bother to confess and repent if the agony of the sin torments them for the rest of their lives.
God's forgiveness when we confess is the complete extinguishing of any guilt, there should not be a residue that lingers as we grow in Christ.
Regretting past forgiven sins does not bring any more forgiveness than we had the first time, in fact the regret and sadness over past forgiven sins could very well be a lack of faith that God has forgiven and forgotten. It might also be a fear of man, that others will hold our past forgiven sins against us.
We need not fear what man thinks. No child of God who loves you will hold against you past forgiven sins. If we encounter someone who says they are Christian and want to treat us disrespectfully over our past, then they do not love us, do not understand the forgiveness of God and will not be interested in being a growing thriving companion for us on our journey.
Philippians 3:13-14 - " Brothers, I do not count myself to have attained, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press towards the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
I am thankful for the loving Savior Who encourages me with His Word every day. I have encountered "Christians" who love to think evil things about me as though I am still in the past, never having moved beyond that past. I pay no attention to them, I have moved on from them. If they ever repent of their self-righteousness and want to reconcile I would be ready, but until that happens I am going down that path with Christ without them.

The Fruit is the Proof

Matthew 7:21-23
"21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"
Many people in our culture say they are Christians but have no interest in God's Word or if they do, they have no interest in understanding it through the teaching of the Holy Spirit. They interpret the Words of God the way they want to believe them. They do this in human relationships too.
Most people interpret the Bible in our day according to their own personal traditions not necessarily what God was teaching in His Word. They interpret the Bible according to their desired belief and what other teachers are telling them, not based on prayer and seeking the Holy Spirit for wisdom to hear from Him.
John 16:13-14
"13However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. 14He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you."
Those who depend on human beings to teach them without regard to whether the Holy Spirit is involved will have only their feeble human understanding based on the traditions of men to fall back on. Since the Holy Spirit is held in such low regard these days the church is falling into apostasy.
We know the level of disregard for the Holy Spirit by the blank looks and sometimes groans when we say we will wait to hear from the Holy Spirit.
I have heard often people taking scriptures out of context to make the words say what they want them to say and not what God meant by His words.
Much of the understanding of modern Christianity is based on psychology, a system that was spawned from Darwinism. Treating people as if they are nothing more than another animal causes the scientists to study the animals and think that human beings operate the same way since, in the scientist's mind, people are nothing more than a higher species of beasts.
Thankfully not all scientists think this way, some are born again and understand that the authentic science they study in nature proves the Bible and the existence of God. They know that human beings respond to things far differently from the animal kingdom.
In order to understand human beings, we must read the Word of God and pray for the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom. The Bible is full of wonderful wisdom and examples in life that show us the nature of human beings, their responses good and bad to everything.
Jesus Christ died for the entire world, all the world had to do was trust in Him and they would have an incredible eternity. When He was on earth Christ healed people and lived in poverty along with most of the world at that time. All He desired was the love from them, then He would be all we need giving us an inheritance so great it cannot be imagined by mankind. We have His Word that promises us this inheritance beyond our human imagination, and yet, most of mankind will reject Him.
Attempting to explain trust in the Holy Spirit today to the modern day narcissists brings division, not because we do something wrong but because most who say they are Christians are apostates and have never experienced hearing from the Holy Spirit.
Mankind is so stubborn they would rather believe they must depend on themselves than surrender to Christ Who will ultimately give us more than we could ever imagine.
Irrational stubbornness is a deceiver, making most believe they can do better than God in this life and they will affect our own salvation in the next.
Even those who say they are saved by grace and cannot work their way to heaven will act as though their good deeds make them special giving them a foot into the kingdom. Saying something is far different from believing and following. There is no true belief if there is no following what we "say" we believe.
God says we will know our brothers and sister in Christ by their fruit. It is alright and even commanded to challenge one another to see if we are truly saved or just pretenders wanting to be a part of a "feelings oriented" club.
Galatians 5:22-23
"22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
If this fruit of the Holy Spirit is not present, then there is no salvation, it is the evidence of a life changed by Christ, the very character qualities of Christ.
Matthew 15:7-8 "…7 You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you: 8 ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. 9 They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’ ”…"
The warnings from God are clear, to make no friends with those who pretend to be Christians but deny Him in their actions. If their actions are contrary to their words, they are either infantile Christians who still need to learn, or they are not born again at all and never have been so.

Paradise Valley

What is Humility?

"Humility is not thinking less of yourself, humility is thinking of yourself less" than you think of God and others.

7 Signs of Christian Narcissist

Friday, March 25, 2022

Reasoning with the Devil is Foolish

When you attempt to give a good reason why you did something the narcissist will call it an excuse. Because narcissists often blame others for their own actions or attitudes, they claim every explanation of ours is just an excuse.

Claiming our explanations are excuses is a way of demeaning their target. Narcissists cannot and will not have a rational and reasonable conversation without diminishing the character of the one they fight against.

When we attempt to be rational with a narcissist their go-to tactic is character assassination, rarely remaining on topic they go after us to cause emotional flare-ups.

It is nearly impossible to get a reasonable answer from a narcissist when we ask a question to clarify what they are saying. We hear things like; "you never listen", when we are attempting to get them to talk openly so we can listen they use personal attacks and never answer the question posed to them.
When we see this tactic employed we know it is time to end the conversation, nothing said after that will calm the narcissist. They use every response as a springboard for more arguing and fighting.

The arguments of the narcissist are irrational and vindictive, but sadly over nothing. They will take a sentence and blow it so out of proportion that it leads to frustration in us, this is their purpose. The narcissist wants to cause confusion, frustration, and anger in their target, they poke and poke until the bear finally growls.

These tactics are demonic, the narcissist is controlled by devils, if not possessed they are controlled by the devil's thoughts. We know the devil places thoughts into people because of what he did with Eve in the garden.

The devil spoke lies to Eve to turn her against God and to motivate her to sin. He is using the same tactic today that he did in the garden. He made Eve question God's motives even suggesting that God was withholding information, even lying to her.

Narcissists today are using the tactics of the devil. He attempts to get us to doubt our stand for righteousness by getting people to come against us, using language like; "that is not kind or loving" when we desire to obey God.

The devil has convinced people to pressure others to disobey God's principles and ways as though it is wrong to do so.

I have even had people pressure me to be friends with people God clearly told me to avoid. When this happens we need to state without reservation that God told me what to do and no pressure from others will make me change my mind. In some cases, we may need to do what Jesus did with Peter, tell the devil this; "get behind me Satan." We need not speak to the person who is being used of the devil, we can speak to the devil in the name of Jesus Christ and silence him.

Just recently the devil spoke through a man to my husband. The man didn't like the truth my husband was speaking so he told my husband to "shut-up", in a threatening voice, twice.

When we encounter rage such as this when the truth is being spoken we know it is a devil using the mind and mouth of the person speaking.

Proverbs 22:24-25 "24 Do not make friends with an angry man, and do not associate with a hot-tempered man, 25 or you may learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.…"

Proverbs 29:22
"An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered man abounds in transgression."

This is God's answer to the problem of men and women who are full of anger. We are to remove ourselves from them, with the understanding that we cannot reason with them or fix them. We must leave them to God. Pray if you like for their salvation, but do not think that you can influence them.

Proverbs 21:24
"Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath."

2 Corinthians 6:14-17
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"

It is clear that if we attempt to reason with an angry person we will ultimately end up shouting back the way they shout at us. We will become like those who hate us. Our goal is to remain Christlike no matter what others are doing, in order to do this we must get away from them if we do not our flesh will emerge at some point and the devil will have won that round.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
"3 But realize this, that in the last days difficult (ragingly insane) times will come.
2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these."

James 1:12. "12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him."

The Stinging Locusts of Revelation

Sister Celeste and I were discussing how terrible it is going to be in the tribulation for those who have not trusted in Christ.

Yes, people who are not born again have no idea how terrible the world will be. Especially those in our country where we have had relatively easy lives compared to other countries.

The creatures I think about the most are those "stinging locusts", they are demons attacking people in their minds and bodies. There are no defenses against them because they are spirit beings, no way to kill them or fight against them in any physical way. The attacks are spiritual and illusional in nature even though they torment the body too, there is no defense against spirit beings who cannot be killed.

The people attacked by them will want to die but cannot die. Revelation 9:6, not only because of the stinging scorpions but also all the other terrible things upon the earth will cause people to want to kill themselves.

Revelation 9:1-11 "And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he strikes a man.
6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon."
