A Nation In A Day May 14, 1948

God performed a miracle 66 years ago on May 14, 1948, He made Israel a nation in a day just as He said He would. Once again God kept His promise to Israel, just as He will keep all His other promise to her and to all those who have been grafted in through salvation in Christ Jesus!

May we celebrate with Israel in the securing of a homeland, the place that God gave to her and one day He will return there.

Isaiah 66:7-8
"7 “Before she travailed, she brought forth;
Before her pain came, she gave birth to a boy.

8 “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things?
Can a land be born in one day?
Can a nation be brought forth all at once?
As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons."

Let God Change Us His Way

Let God Change Us His Way

Some people exercise their bodies to become physically fit. God exercises our spirit to become spiritually fit, He often uses physical means to do it, through illness. He also uses finances, human relationships and mental trials to shape us into His likeness.

We don't learn very much without trials. We may not think we are learning anything in midst of the trial, usually I whine to be bailed out, but after the trial passes I can see the change in perspective that wasn't there before.

The trials are not fun, but coming out the other side a little better than we were before is wonderful. All trials change us if we are not stubborn.

Hebrews 12:5-8
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
"5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,
“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
Nor faint when you are reproved by Him;
6 For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines,
And He scourges every son whom He receives.”
7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons."

Do Earthly Matters Rule Us ?

Do Earthly Matters Rule Us?

To often our focus in on our physical existence, we measure our success by what we own, how good we think we look and the number of friends we have.  God sees things very differently than we do, unless our focus is on Christ alone, we will fall into the trap of the natural thinking of man.

It might be good to take inventory, perhaps taking a day out of our lives and closely watching how we respond to things and people, we may be more focused on earthly matters than we think we are.

Job 22:25-29
New King James Version (NKJV)
"25 Yes, the Almighty will be your gold And your precious silver;
26 For then you will have your delight in the Almighty, And lift up your face to God.
27 You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you, And you will pay your vows.
28 You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways.
29 When they cast you down, and you say, ‘Exaltation will come!’ Then He will save the humble person."
