The Attacks of the Devil

Satan attacks our minds through thoughts and feelings.
Have you ever been feeling happy with nothing bad going on and then all of a sudden a feeling of sadness comes over us? Even momentarily at times, without anything triggering it?
When God tells us something in His Word we might have a feeling of "did God really say that", just the way Satan did with Eve in the garden. Many people are misinterpreting the Bible because they are seeing God's word through "feelings-oriented" eyes.
The devil placed doubt in the mind of his target, Eve, appealing to her pride and desire for something that was forbidden to her.
The devil often attacks the "feelings" level of a person far more than anything else. He has no power if he cannot make us give into "feelings."
If he can convince us our feelings are truth, then he can lead us into all kinds of blasphemy and sin.
As Adrian Rogers once said; "feelings are the shallowest part of our being." I would add to this that feelings are also often wrong, they make us think something is wrong when it is right and that something is right when it is wrong.
God says in the last days "good will be called bad and bad will be called good." This is because people are basing what they believe on feelings rather than facts. If someone is fearful about something chances are good they are more feelings oriented.
Even worship in our churches has become feelings-oriented. Many people think if they feel good about something it must be truth. If they feel bad about something then it must be wrong.
We see this in the culture too, in an insane irrational embracing of feelings when someone's gender is based on what they happen to desires to feel that day, this is irrational insanity.
As God said in 2 Timothey 3; "in the last days, there will be perilous (ragingly insane) times. When we see the language in its original meaning we can see how this is playing out right now everywhere. Irrational insanity rules nearly everything.
Keep in mind that we are in the end of the end days, it has been prophesied and will progress into worse days to come until Christ comes back to destroy evil at the end of it. We will be with Him when He does this after having enjoyed seven years of the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Will things get worse before we go to that Supper? You betcha!!!! However, we need not be depressed about it because we know the end of the story and that Christ wins and we with Him.
The devil says: "what if" or "did God really mean that" and we reply with His Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. As born again believers we don't have to worry, stress or feel oppressed when we are focused on Christ. We may have bought of skirmishes with temptation and the devil's ploys but we do not remain helpless or hopeless.
Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."
Romans 5:1 "Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God."
Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."
Hallelujah!!!
