Pretending Will Lead One To Hell

I am convinced that many who say they are Christians have never been born again. They joined a cultural club to feel good about themselves and to look good in the eyes of those they wish to impress, but hide their real condition of lostness. In other words they know what they are because they hide. If they didn't know their lost condition they would not hide. The also come to God to use Him like a fairy godmother, that He might be available to them when they need Him, but have no interest in becoming cleansed or holy. These pretenders are their own gods, the True God is set aside to be used as needed.

Matthew 7:21-23
"21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Pretending is a very big part of the life of someone who joins the "Christian club", but has no desire to be changed by Christ. They think they are wonderful all by themselves, they add Christ to their elevated status to fit into what they think is the "special crowd." They love their knowledge, they love their specialness, at least in their own minds they are special and above others.

Sadly many who are pretending have fooled themselves into believing they are going to heaven but when they arrive before the throne of God, they will be faced with their evil heart, their pretense will no longer be of use to them.
