Too Little Too Much

"If the devil can't get you to do nothing, he will get you do too much."

Susan B. Anthony once said:

“I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires”.

Warning Other the Action of Love

Warning others is the most loving thing a prophet can do.

Love has nothing to do with "praise of men" and "flatter."

The prophets were the most loving people on the planet. They irritated people, no one would listen to them because they told the truth and they often died as martyrs for their love.

The Nature of Love

What love is not:

It is not giving someone something they want that might be devastating to their welfare.

It is not praising them for things that are sinful, evil or ruinous to their own life as well as the lives of others.

It is not accepting sin in the lives of others merely to remain friends with them.

It is not pretending nothing is wrong when we can see the sin someone is heading into by their actions.

What is Love!

Love is caring so deeply about the welfare of another person that we encourage them in the way of righteousness.

Love is caring so deeply about the welfare of another person that we point out weak spots that could cause harm to them.

Love is being open and transparent about our own failings, that those we love will see us confessing, as an example to them that confessing regains us our joy and spiritual growth.

Love cares more about spiritual consequences that personal pleasures or good feelings.

Love does not encourage someone in a direction that will cause a separation between them and God, as well as their fellow believer.

Love tells the truth all the time. Truth can hurt, but it also heals.
Without truth one cannot grow in holiness. Without truth the heart becomes more and more hardened and desensitized to evil. The more one resists truth, the harder they become. When one hardens their heart long enough, eventually God will finish the hardening and there is no chance of returning to a heart of flesh.

Jeremiah 18:12
"But they will say, 'It's hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.'"

Exodus 14:8
"The LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he chased after the sons of Israel as the sons of Israel were going out boldly."

Daniel 5:20
"But when his heart was lifted up and his spirit became so proud that he behaved arrogantly, he was deposed from his royal throne and his glory was taken away from him."

One who loves, is willing to take a chance on being rejected in order to please God and help another person see their need for confession and growth.

Love never supports evil, it always encourages in the way of righteousness. Love always trusts God's way above man's way.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
"4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."

The Demise of Nations

This was a passage written to Israel when they were disobedient to the Lord, the principles of this passage could easily be applied to the United States of America because of all it's sins against God:

Jeremiah 34:20
20 "I will give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life. And their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth."

There are those in America who live in a fantasy world of make believe. They think as long as they continue to SAY words, such as, "God Bless America", we will not be judged, we will automatically change our ways and turn this country to God.

The evidence that we are under judgment is clear, our families are pretty much destroyed, even those who desired to teach and train their children in righteousness are experiencing deep disrespect for them and as much disrespect for God. When a child respects God they will treat their parents with respect also.

Nearly all the principles of God in the Bible are being ignored, rage ensues when we confront the violations, even with those who attend church regularly.

Divorce and remarriage is embraced and defended, second marriages are accepted as well as shack up situations. After all, if adulterous marriages are recognized as legitimate, then why bother with marriage at all. Hopping from one marriage to another is no different from shacking up one partner to another.

Luke 16:18
"18 “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery."

Abortion is rampant because church goers as a whole have little to no influence on our culture, there is no pressure to bear on those who would desire to kill their babies.

Homosexuality is being accepted almost completely now by the seculars, and many church goers are beginning to desensitize to it from the media pressure to get on board.

Our movie industry is full of wicked programming as well as the commercials that promote every form of immorality even debauchery.

The Bible is being spurned, rejected, mocked and demeaned by many church goers, not to mention the secular culture as a whole. The church leaders have stopped preaching holiness or righteousness and hold to a social gospel of a better life, not based on spiritual growth.

The factors being attacked by the devil the most are the families, marriage and the murder of the innocence, are all family based attacks.

When a nation gets to the point where murdering in holocaust fashion, becomes the new normal, marriage is treated with contempt and children lack respect for their parents and all authority, the country has lost the hope of recovering from the carnage. These attitudes are all interrelated.

Sin and wickedness is raging through our culture at break neck speed. One waits each week to see the next evil that will be promoted in the media.

We have moved from "promoting" evil to "punishing" those who will not fall in line with those who demand we accept it.

Narcissists are never satisfied with being able to live wickedly, they must force others to accept it, even endorse it. Through their attacks on others they coerce anyone who dares to resist their demands.

We see this intimidation and manipulation in individual family members as well as the media, it is rampant on every level in every area of life.

The father of lies, tells lies, promotes discord, manipulates, intimidates, mocks, demeans and triangulates to wear down the one who chooses to think with his own mind or with the mind of Christ. The devil desires followers and is willing to do anything to get them, while destroying any sense of independence from him and his minions.

The only way to resist the devil is to be indwelt with Christ, the personification, creator and author of all righteousness. It is His power in us that makes the devil flee.

How do we resist the devil? Here it is!

James 4:6-8 "6 But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.…"

The key phrases here are simple to understand; "submit yourselves to God" and "draw near to God."

How do we submit and draw near to God? We do this by reading His Word, praying for wisdom and obeying what He says to us. If we hear a voice that tells us to do something against His word then that voice is not God, we must reject it. Anything that violates the Word of God is not from Him.

Hebrews 4:11-13 "11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.…"
