God has a lot to say about our speech!

God has a lot to say about our speech!

Colossians 4:6
"6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."

Psalm 19:14
"14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer."

Psalm 34:12-13
12 Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit."

Psalm 37:30
"30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice."

Psalm 40:10
"10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth From the great assembly."

Proverbs 8:13
"To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech."

Proverbs 10:18-20
"18 Whoever hides hatred has lying lips, And whoever spreads slander is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; The heart of the wicked is worth little."

Proverbs 10:31-32
31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, But the perverse tongue will be cut out. 32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse."

Proverbs 12:22
"22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal truthfully are His delight."

Proverbs 15:1-2
"1 A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness."

Proverbs 15:4
"4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit."

Matthew 15:8
"8 ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And[a] honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me."

2 Corinthians 8:7
"7 But as you abound in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us—see that you abound in this grace also."

He is Called "I AM"

He is Called “I AM”

On another thread we were discussing the Catholic church. All too often I meet with Protestants who think that Catholics can be born again.

Remember when you hear a Catholic say, "they are saved by grace", they do not mean the same thing that we do. They believe that the more good deeds they do, the more grace they heap up for themselves and might be saved if they do enough good.

The Catholics I knew when we left the church were told NOT to read the Bible. They were told that only the priests could understand it.

I was met with anger and rejection when I began to read my Bible while in the church. I was told that I was arrogant for thinking I could know truth. I had become born again, I did not leave the church until my husband became born again ten years later.

I endured much persecution on the part of his family and all our friends, and even my husband until he became saved. I praise the Lord He gave me the strength to endure.

The more I read the Word and prayed for wisdom, the more of the wickedness of the church was exposed. It made my husband angry about what I was showing him, eventually he saw, became born again and now feels as though he had been lied to and despises the Catholic system.

There are others just like us, whom God pulled out of the church. We know better the truth of it, because we lived it. Sadly, Protestants will sometimes argue with us, thinking Catholics can be saved. WE know that if a Catholic becomes born again they must leave that system.

Christ is sacrificed every week, while the people indulge in a form of cannibalism, believing in "transubstantiation", the belief that the bread and wine turn into the actual body and blood of Christ.

They base this belief on the statement Christ made when He said; "this is my body", while He sat there with the apostles, not yet crucified. Christ's statement was an illustration to make a point, it was not actually His body and blood.

Christ also said he was the door...we know he was never a door..He meant He is the only way to the Father.

Christ said He called Himself many things to illustrate His function and character.

John 15:5 - "I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

John 14:6 - "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

John 6:55-59
"55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum"

John 10:9 "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."

John 10:11 " I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."

We are not literal sheep and Christ is not literally our a shepherd. We are likened to these things as illustrations of the relationship.

John 6:35
“I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger.”

John 8:12
“I am the light of the world; he who fallows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

John 11:25
"“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies.”

John 8:58.
"Jesus said, “Truly, Truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am”, which means that Jesus existed before His human life on earth.

Which Bond is Stronger, the New Family or the Old Family

All the strong believers I know, have been rejected by bio families, with rare exception, those who were raised in strong Christians families, most of us were not. God told us to count the cost, because He wanted us to realize we may and usually do loose a lot in terms of human relationships to follow Christ.

And yet, there is not a real loss but an amazing gain, other brothers and sisters, some of which we have not yet met. The family of God is many, although few compared to the population of the world. Powerful is the bond of this new family.

Matthew 10:32-39
"32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.
33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.
35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’;
36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’
37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it."

Confession is necessary for change!

Confession is necessary for change!

Albert Einstein said; "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result."  LOL

To many people will not admit their failings, thereby making it impossible to move on to do better. If we confess our failings, that is an indication that we want to learn from them.
