Less Evil Than the Other Evil

I am sorry to burst anyone's political bubble, but I did not vote for Trump because I thought he could save America, I voted for him because he was not Hillary. Because of the wicked times, there is no "righteous" man to vote for, only ones who are less evil than other evil men.

I know that the only thing that will save this country is for the people to repent.

Our children's generation, those in their 40's now, possess a sense of superiority and arrogance that matches no other generation in our country.

The lack of respect, even those who "say" they have respect do not know what it is. They were not paying attention when we were treating our parents with kindness, never talking back to them or mocking them as we have experienced from our children.

My husband and I talk about it often, how little respect we see from our children's generation. The sense that these 40 somethings are talking down to us as though they know more about life than we do.

Is there a come-up-ance, soon? I hope that one day these arrogant and self righteous ones will be brought to their knees before God as they learn their place.

Isaiah 2:11-12 "11 The proud look of man will be abased And the loftiness of man will be humbled, And the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. 12 For the LORD of hosts will have a day of reckoning Against everyone who is proud and lofty And against everyone who is lifted up, That he may be abased.…"

Forget About Fearing the President, Fear God Instead

On another thread there was a discussion about whether or not our president was a dictator. Such silliness! If anyone was a dictator Obama was, ignoring the laws to suit his own agenda, but that is not the issue here.

We are living in the end times, it is not likely that Trump or any other president will bail out America.

The hearts of the people remain rebellious and staunch. Just take a look at the fights that occur when the Scripture is mentioned on facebook alone.

Then remember that 4000 babies continue to be murdered every day, porn is rampant, even pastors who are indulging in it. The sin of this country is so great that God cannot turn a blind eye to it.

We must be punished for the already 60 MILLION babies that have been slaughtered. There will be no repenting on the part of the country as a whole.

Why has Trump not executed a "emancipation proclamation" for the babies as Lincoln did for the slaves. Think about it!

There are now more babies born out of wedlock than in marriage and the divorce and remarriage rate is out of control, just as high in the church as it is in the world. Enough said, there is more, but if this does not humble someone, then perhaps more would not do so either.

It is not Trump we should fear, but God!

What Does It Mean to You

A problem in our culture is that Christians often hear silly words like "what does that passage 'mean to you'" while reading the Bible in a group, as though everyone will have differing desires on how they wish to interpret the Words of God. As though the words of God are merely an outline for us to fill in the blanks.

I stopped going to women's Bible studies years ago, because of the silly things I heard. There was lots of goo based on feelings and a search for "experiences" beyond the Word of God.

One leader stated excitedly "there is an angel walking around the backs of our chairs." I said; "so what" why does that matter, angels are created beings, they are all around us. They are messengers not gods. It is obvious to me why I am not welcome in most groups.

I never believed she saw angels marching around the chairs, it was clear with her bubbly and gregarious demeanor that she loved attention and the "special" status. Her desire to be seen as spiritually superior led her into lying.

So many prosperity preachers indulge in lying through their claims of supernatural encounters. They think others will elevate them as super spiritual merely on their claims alone and sadly it is the case.

If this woman were seeing angels but the angels had no message for us, then what would be the point of exposing their visit. Angels are created beings, they come and go all the time. God even told women in the church to be covered for the sake of the angels. Angels are learning from us, they will be judged by us at the end of our earthly existence. They are never to be the object of worship.

1 Corinthians 11:9 "…9 Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 For this reason a woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels. "

Sensationalism drives the church today, more than love of the Word.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-11 "…9 The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, 10 and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. 11 For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie,…"

If Bible teachers and preachers can get the church to focus on miracles and experiences they can and have managed to take the focus from Christ Himself.

There is such a thing in our country called, "faith in faith." Many have faith in their own faith, but their faith is not in Christ. They actually believe they have the ability to control things simply by thinking it and believing it.

There doesn't have to be a god involved as long as they trust the power of their own mind. This is the very thing Norman Vincent Peale believed and taught as well as many others. Our president loves this man and has been an influence over many since he ran for office. All the prosperity preachers who supported him, teach the power of the mind.

Agreeing to Disagree is not Godly

God wants us to agree, if there is a disagreement, there ought to be a coming together with God's Word to search for the truth.

Most people only want to lazily "agree to disagree." This is a worldly term to keep people from fighting, but the problem is that if we follow it, no one will be searching for truth to come to agreement.

Acts 17:10-12 "10 As soon as night had fallen, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true. 12 As a result, many of them believed, along with quite a few prominent Greek women and men.…"

The reason most will not search "together" is because there is intense pride and the need to be superior and "knowing it all."

He's The Only Way

Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father in heaven. Without Him as your advocate, there will be no entrance.

Ask Questions

Ask questions! Ask lots of question all the time! If anyone tries to make you think something is wrong with you for asking questions, then you know they are controllers and probably hiding something.

Cults expect their followers to never ask questions, they cannot control a person who thinks.

If we hear a sermon or a statement from anyone, our first response ought to be, "is this true according to the Bible."

Proverbs 14:15 "The gullible believe anything they're told; the prudent sift and weigh every word."

Encouragement or Flattery?

Encouragement and gratitude is far different from manipulative flattery. I am convinced believers who are discerning can see the difference. It is impossible to become emotionally connected to those who use flattery to disarm others.

We are not in bondage to the responses of others, the day the Lord revealed this to me was the day I was set free, from false guilt that kept me an emotional prisoner to everyone else's responses.

People often will attempt to manipulate us into becoming just like them. We will not be accepted unless we say what they say, do what they do and praise them for who they are, frequently.

The nature of our culture is that everyone has been overly praised and validated, even when that praise is false and undeserved. There are even those who will praise others to cause someone to feel diminished, as though if we are not like their "hero" we are not worthy of respect and honor. Withholding encouragement is a classic narcissistic manipulation, designed to diminish us while elevating the one who practices this.

This culture calls this excessive and nauseating praise "love", but it is not love, it is flattery, clearly what God condemns.

Proverbs 29:5 "5 A man who flatters his neighbor Is spreading a net for his steps. 6 By transgression an evil man is ensnared, But the righteous sings and rejoices.…"

When we love someone our expressions of gratitude and honor are genuine, they are clearly coming from the heart.

Flattery to gain advantage is nothing more than self exaltation.

Jude 1:16 " 16 These men are discontented grumblers, following after their own lusts; their mouths spew arrogance; they flatter others for their own advantage. "

May we as believers learn what the genuine love looks like and stop all the arrogant play acting that serves only to elevate self. May we ignore flattery and enjoy the genuine expressions of kindness, may we learn to discern the difference.
