If the Prophets Endured So Can We

Does any of this sound familiar?

Jeremiah 18:18
"Then they said, "Come and let us devise plans against Jeremiah. Surely the law is not going to be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the sage, nor the divine word to the prophet! Come on and let us strike at him with our tongue, and let us give no heed to any of his words."

The more we speak the truth, the more we will encounter the same things as the prophets did. The people plotted against Jeremiah to malign his reputation discrediting the things he said. If they can attack the credibility of the person, then they manage to turn people away from listening to them.

We can expect this problem to increase as the time draws near for the end of the age.

Luke 18:8
""I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"

Jeremiah 7:27
""You shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you; and you shall call to them, but they will not answer you."

Knowing that the prophets who followed hard after God, experienced this sort of rejection, helps us to continue in confidence, realizing that we are not guilty of anything just because others become angry when they hear the truth.

Unfortunately too many believers become silent because of the intimidation and manipulation that they have to endure, even from those who are suppose to love them.

Thankfully the Lord has comforted us with these words, they were recorded to encourage us to keep going and know that Christ in us will decide the results.
