Develop Discernment

In the science of lie spotting the experts have learned that right handed people look up to the right when they are lying but to the left when they are telling the truth. For the left handed person it is the opposite.

I find it fascinating that our bodies give us away in many ways when we are lying and validating what we say when we are telling the truth. Our bodies and mind are deeply connected much more than we realize.

There is the false smile for instance, when we are pretending to smile to impress others, our smile is dead and lifeless only engaging the muscles around our mouth. When we are smiling genuinely the muscles in our entire face including the eyes are engaged in the smile. No one can fake a real smile!

There are many other signs, whether or not someone is telling the truth. When we learn the body language we can become more discerning, although sometimes we see these things without realizing it and sense that we don't believe someone but we don't know why we don't trust them.

There are what is called "micro expressions" on the face that occur when someone is telling a lie. We do not know that we see them, but our heart knows something is not right.

In these last days it is good to be closely connected to the Lord Jesus Christ Who can warn us about the deceptions all around us. God gives us discernment, even wisdom about someone through their body indicators as well as their speech, the words they use and the change in voice as they speak.

I am convinced that many believers turn off their discernment switch in order to be accepted by the culture around them. If they can just ignore the signals and clues they can be happier and more included by others. Believers are so eager to appear loving and kind they think they must pretend everything is alright to be a good Christian. The problem with this mentality is that it denies truth and leaves us open to all kinds of pitfalls.

It is not a good idea to continually evaluate every human being about every little thing, but when we have discernment we don't have to look for anything, it will appear to us without effort.

It is a good thing to be discerning and discriminating. Discriminating used to mean choosing right from wrong back in the day. Today it has been made to refer to an attitude of prejudice against race or gender. The old definition of discriminating was to be able to discern between good and bad, without it we could be continually mistaken about many things, making unnecessary errors, falling in with evil people or losing the ability to make good judgments.

We need discernment, God can give us all we need when we need it, but we must know His Word to gain this wisdom.

James 1:4-6 "…4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.…"

Philippians 1:9-10
"And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,"

Try to Remember What is Important Christian

Why do I expose the reality of our presidential bent? What I object to is the level of expectation the idol worshipers are engaging in when they think Trump is going to save America.

My goal is not to mock or demean the president, but rather to warn people to remember that the things he is going to do for us, are not the most important things.

Our country needs to repent, when we are too busy focused on our borders, jobs and those kinds of things, it pushes out God entirely.

We remain as sinful as we always have maybe more so because we are buying into this "Health, Wealth and Prosperity" even more now that we have a president who values these things.

Sin Reigns Supreme

It is difficult these days to evaluate a persons' behavior or attitude without being accused of attacking them. To evaluate something we see, is a good thing and endorsed by God.

Matthew 7:15-16 "15 Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?…"

Matthew 18:15-16 ". 15 If your brother sins against you, go and confront him privately. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16 But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’…"

If we are to "beware of false prophets" as God tells us, that means that we are going to have to discern their attitudes and actions. If the culture sees doing this as an attack, then how are we to warn others.

I notice that we are not accused of "attacking" someone if we say only good things about them. Why does our culture consider it good to tell the good things about a person but see it as bad to tell the bad things?

As a culture we have been programmed to believe that we should only see the good and ignore the bad. Is it any wonder that sin goes unchallenged and people as a whole never grow emotionally or spiritually.

Emotional and spiritual growth only occurs when the sin is exposed and dealt with, through rebuke, correction or discipline.

If sin in any form is allowed to go unchallenged then it grows. If the people are not warned to be discerning they will be fooled and used, even abused by those who are evil.

Would a facebook friend be angry at me for warning them about a scammer who is trying to take the money from the bank accounts of those they scam? My guess is that I would be thanked for warning them.

When we like someone so much that we refuse to see the need for correction or warning about their sinful nature, that person becomes an idol to the one who will not look at truth.

Luke 17:3 " 3 Watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him."

We should never be so in taken with anyone that we hang on every word they say without evaluating it for truth. If we love our friend, our country, our church, then we will care deeply that they not fall into error or engage in questionable things that might destroy them and others.

Sadly, too many people think that a rebuke, correction or discipline is hate, but in fact it is just the opposite. To correct others is to do so hoping they will listen, change their course and pray about what they are going to do out of protection for them.

Hebrews 12:5-7 "…5 And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, or lose heart when He rebukes you. 6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives as a son.” 7 Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?…"

Rather than becoming angry when our favorite person is criticized it is best to take it to prayer, remembering exhortation is not hate but love. Also remembering that exposing evil is love toward those who may fall into a trap and even love for the offender, that they might learn and turn.

Our culture of praise and flattery has driven us into a pit of evil that seems impossible to get out of, since many people in our culture come unglued at the suggestion that they may have the wrong idea, the wrong actions or even the wrong attitude.

Titus 3:10-11 "10 Reject a divisive man after a first and second admonition, 11 knowing that such a man is corrupt and sinful; he is self-condemned.…"

Psalm 141:5
"Let the righteous smite me in kindness and reprove me; It is oil upon the head; Do not let my head refuse it, For still my prayer is against their wicked deeds."

I have encountered more people in our culture who are convinced that speaking truth when it is corrective, is negative and should not be spoken. This is a very clever ploy of the devil to intimidate righteous people into silence. If the righteous can be silenced, then sin can reign supreme.

Deception is Like That

It appears that to us now that everything is going to be alright because "the right man got in the white house", but deceptions are like that, they make us feel safe to lull us into thinking everything will be alright now, when in fact it will progress even faster than it was before. Sight is not very good for humans, we have to walk by faith and be discerning.

The Prosperity Preachers are not the Only Ones

Trump sounds exactly like every motivational speaker I have ever heard as well as those "Health, Wealth and Prosperity" preachers we see every week on television, who by the way, are the ones supporting him, look at the videos and see which of them he is with.

It Will Get Worse Not Better

What concerns me is when people get the physical desires and more freedom to sin, they will be satisfied with that and be harder to reach for Christ. Those prosperity preachers who are behind him are behind him because he is just like they are, seeking worldly wealth and freedom to live as they please.

There has been no turning from sin to God in this nation, people love to throw around the word "God" and pluck out of context from the Bible that makes them justify their desire to live as they please, but it has nothing to do with God.

AND GOD IS NOT GOING TO BLESS THIS!!!!

1 Thessalonians 5:3-4 "3 While people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief.…"

Nothing good is going to happen, it will get worse but people won’t notice it because they are too busy living as they please, they have been lulled into a false sense of safety and while claiming it was alright with God, because He allowed it. Yes, He allowed it, but not for the reasons we think, He is merely giving the people what they want and it will further destroy the nation because Christ is not at the center of it.

The Sheeple are Following a Straw Man

People are sheep for the most part, they need a righteous leader who not only is an example himself but also calls for repentance. Trump is not that leader! Yes, I have to say what he says is better than what our former president has said, but neither president promoted holiness or repentance.

Our nation is deeply divided but not the ungodly against the godly, but rather the ungodly liberal against the ungodly conservative. The ideas of the conservatives make better sense in many ways, than those of the liberals, but the unholiness of most in each group is exactly the same, rebellion against God through the tolerance and even embracing their favorite sins.

I don't hate Trump, as some have intimated, but I don't elevate him either as more special than all the other leaders we have had down through the years. He is just better at motivational speaking. People often ignore the subtle clues of the unrighteousness of a man to focus on getting the things that they feel will make them wealthy and safe.

The sins in the country far outweigh anything Trump promises to provide, they override the physical things. Is God going to be happy about building a wall, no He wants repentance toward Him.

Does God care about jobs, wealth and freedom, no, He wants repentance and righteousness.

Acts 3:19
"Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out,"

Luke 13:3
"No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

It is God's will for America to repent from porn, abortion, drug addiction, filthy movies, freedom to do every kind of evil including same sex marriage, divorce and remarriage and every other sin that America does not want to let go of.

I heard no proclamation last night in President Trump's speech that he was going to stop the murdering of millions of babies. All the sins we have engaged in as a nation are not being dealt with, sadly many people will be happy with this status quo, pretending that things have changed when little will until the people repent. Are the people repenting on their own without leadership, NO, they go deeper into their sin, deeper and deeper, even while they get their wall, their wealth, their jobs and their healthcare.

We did not elect a "pastor", so what if we did not, it is still God's will that the leaders of a country promote righteousness. God is showing us now just how gullible the people will be when the real anti-christ comes on the scene, promising all the "things" they want, while at the same time promoting all the sin they want.

There was a time when the nation of Israel had God as their leader, they didn't want that, they wanted a human leader like all the other nations and it cost them dearly. This is where we are in our nation today, we want a human leader that gives us all the things that we think will make us happy and safe, but not willing to give up any of the sins we enjoy.

The people who are enamored with our new president choose to overlook all the clues that this man, in his present state, is not going to promote righteousness while on a third marriage, owning gambling casinos with mostly naked lap dancers, and alcohol is big business for this man.

He might get some of the things that we want, but he is not righteous, to hold him up as one who will cause God to bless us and make us great again is foolishness at best. Our goal should not be to become great again, our goal should be to be holy and trusting Christ.

Saving the nation from illegals, giving us more jobs and better healthcare sound good, but they pale in comparison to our monstrous sins against God.

President Trump can quote Bible verse and pray to God, but if he does not promote righteousness, God is not going to bless a nation that will not turn from it's sins.

John 9:31 "31 We know that God does not listen to sinners, but He does listen to the one who worships Him and does His will."

The prosperity preachers believe their prayer for a new president was answered, and perhaps it was, but sadly their focus was prosperity, now God is going to show them that saving our country as it is without repentance is only going to lead to greater sin and more acceptance of sin.

Matthew 15:8 “…7 You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you: 8‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. 9They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’”…
