Business is a Distraction

There are many people who boast about how busy they are doing something noble or precious by being so busy. Business is not a virtue, in fact often we waste away precious time doing useless things that bring no value to our lives or for Christ.

The Lord is making it clear to me that being too busy distracts us from doing the things that God has called us to do. I find that God's directions do not tell us to do many things, He gives us one or two things to do that we should do well.

When we focus on the one or two things He wants us to do, we will do a much better job than if we have several that we can only do half as well.

We are not more spiritual or more active for God by doing many things.

We need to learn to be satisfied with what God gave us and stop filling up your time with things God never told us to do. We must never allow others to pressure us into doing things they think we should do. Any suggestions by others should be taken to prayer before making any commitments.

We are not called to do what other people are doing. They have their mandate from God and we have ours.

The most joyful person is the one who is in the center of God's will, not doing too much but just the right amount.

The Church Gathering is in Trouble

We have been in trouble spiritually in the church a long time ago when people began to appoint and pay one man pastors for their gatherings. It managed to cause laziness in the pew people.

When one man is elevated above others as having special knowledge they become the Holy Spirit for the people. The people look to the pastor as though he has a special "in" with God that others don't.

If we are born again believers ALL have the Holy Spirit and have no need of leaders and teachers. We have leaders according to the Bible but they teach and guide they do not dictate and force.

Every man should be preaching, administrating, leading in some way and every woman has spiritual gifts to be able to share what she knows, especially with the younger women. Those younger women who act as though the older women should not teach them, are denying God's Word.
