Rebuking the Temptations

When the devil slips in that thought to infect our flesh with negativity, rebuke it, refuse it and toss scripture at it. Our greatest defense against the tricks and temptations of the devil is to fight with scripture boldly and every time, every single time.

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
—2 Timothy 1:7

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
—Deuteronomy 31:6

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
—Psalm 23:4

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”
—Psalm 27:1

These are only a few of the passages the Lord has given us to stay strong, there are many more!

How to Become Born Again and Saved From Hell

Admit you are a sinner, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to change you into a new creation. If you want this then Christ will come and live in you beginning the process of cleansing over your lifetime.

Acts 16:30 "…30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”"

2 Corinthians 5:16-18 "…16 So from now on we regard no one according to the flesh. Although we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:…"

~Proverbs 22:10

"Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease."

Seeking Truth

Revival: to revive something that was once alive but now weak or dead. Revival in churches are not for the unbeliever they are for the lazy believer who has become lax in their walk.

Transformation: When something that was, is turned into something entirely different from what it was previously. Transformation is for those who are unsaved who trust Christ, at which time He makes them a completely new person from what they were before.

Decimate: does not mean to destroy something, it means to reduce it by one tenth. Meaning 90% was not destroyed.

Destroy: means to ruin or demolish completely.

Fewer: means not as many of the things one can count. "There are fewer apples in the bin" is an example.

Less: means small measurements of things one cannot count. "There is less flour in the bin."

So many uses of the English language today are incorrect as the culture changes so does the meaning of words. As the culture promotes self will and lack of diligence we are seeing the demise of intelligent thinking.

As the culture becomes lazy not only in language but also in morals and excellence in all areas of life we will see the degradation of society on all levels.

One thing I have noticed in our culture today is the angst one encounters when they correct someone in their speech as though they did something rude.

2 Timothy 4:1-3 "1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires.…"

As we walk through these end times we will encounter more and more people who lack basic language skills and sadly are happy remaining ignorant.

Over the years I have corrected the speech of those younger than I and have been ignored, only to hear these same people continue to speak incorrectly in spite of the correction.

O.K. you might say this is picky, but I am convinced that laziness in speech and laziness in learning to do things better can be and often is rebellion against anyone who corrects and against excellence itself.

As a young person I was not offended by correction or instruction, it caused me to change the way I was doing something to doing it better.

Since our culture has been taught to do as they please and that correction is insulting, they remain ignorant and they like it. Its a badge of honor for them to do just as they please even if its wrong.

Its no wonder any correction according to the Bible is seen as a personal attack to those who love their own ways and their own ideas above those of God's meanings!

James 1:5
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him."

Those who remain stubborn, choosing to believe what they like to believe without challenge will not grow spiritually or emotionally, they remain immature until they repent and begin to listen to God.

Proverbs 9:10
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight."

It is fear that causes rebellious people to defend their right to be wrong. Fear that they will be seen as ignorant drives the stubborn heart to remain foolish. Stubborn hearts would rather be ignorant as long as they can appear wise by being stubborn.

A wise person can admit they don't know it all and change to be a better person. But the foolish person never changes, even proud of how stubborn they can be.

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

Proverbs 14:8
"The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving."

So the answer to all of this is to be a person who loves instruction from God's word and from anyone else who offers correction. We do not have to believe everything others tell us but if we are wise we will take into account the input of others, pray about it and search God's Word for His answers to the challenge.

Those who will not seek God when they are challenged will not grow in wisdom, in fact, if they ignore everyone and God to believe they are all knowing then they will regress in their wisdom as they grow older.

One does not remain stagnant as they age, they are either moving forward or backward but they are for sure always moving in on direction or the other.

Obey God and He Will Protect You

Notice What God Said!

When someone fights against the Bible they are fighting against God. If this makes anyone angry then it is evidence of rebellion against God.

Spend More Time with God's People

Amen!!!

1 Corinthians 15:33 " 33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

Our constant companions as believers must be those who love our Lord. When we encounter a non-believer as we walk in the world we will be strong, unable to be influenced by them because Christ lives in us and our continual companions are those who love Him.

Worldly Christian Mantras That are not Biblical

If someone is boasting that they are "too blessed to be stressed" they are probably into mantras without depth of understanding. I would say that sometimes the devil doesn't bother with those who belong to him, they are left alone to indulge their flesh which will all by itself lead them to destruction.

Hebrews 12:8 " 8 If you do not experience discipline like everyone else, then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. "

If we are not experiencing trials, living in total happiness all the time then perhaps we are not born again. The born again believer has great joy all the time as well as trials that produce endurance.

Romans 5:3-5 "…3 Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.…"

Beware of using "Christian worldly" mantras that build pride.

Those Who are Demonically Controlled

Narcissists do what they do because they are demoniacally controlled. Devils make them think their dastardly deeds are justified. He fools them into thinking their victims are the bad ones all the while being mean and hateful to those they want to believe bad things about. If they cannot find evidence against those they hate they will make something up.

1 Peter 5:8-9 "8 Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.…"

1 John 3:8
"8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil [a]has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil."

James 4:7
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Only those who have Christ have defense against the devil. The greatest defense against him is Christ Who lives in those who have trusted in Him.

We are living in the days of "raging insanity" in which bad is called good and good is called bad. Very little makes good sense anymore. One of the reason I don't use the phrase, "common sense" is because the common senses these days is foolishness.

1 Corinthians 3:18-20 "18 Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become a fool, so that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” 20 And again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”…"

The good news: Proverbs 21:30
"No wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel can prevail against the LORD."

1 Corinthians 1:20
"Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?"

1 Corinthians 4:6
"Brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written. Then you will not take pride in one man over another."

Many people in the church today are not born again. the evidence of this is the continual adding to the words of the Bible using psychology and worldly ideas to justify sin.

Many people are adding to the scriptures, taking away from them as well as plucking passages out of context to make them say what God never said.

We are living in the days of apostasy as God said would happen.

1 Timothy 4:1
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that, in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons."

The job of believers in these times of apostasy can be seen in the Bible:

Jude 20 — 25 "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your
most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep
yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy
of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of
some have compassion, making a difference; and
others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire,
hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Now
unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and
to present you faultless before the presence of his glory
with exceeding joy, to the only wise God, our Savior,
be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both
now and ever. Amen."
