Praying for the Enemy

It is not hard to pray for our enemies and those who have rejected us. The hard part is continuing that same prayer for 40 years without any sign that things are changing. The other part of that is the discouragement when we see things growing worse instead of better.

Then the prayer becomes more and more that we remain faithful to Christ no matter the response from others.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

Psalm 33:4 For the Word of the Lord is upright, And all His work is done in faithfulness.

Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Psalms 119:90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.

Exodus 34:6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth;

1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Lamentations 3:22-23 The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Romans 8: 38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Arrogance Shows

A sign that you may be arrogant is when no one is able to correct you, or when one can never/rarely admit they are wrong.

Romans 5:7-9

"…7 It is rare indeed for anyone to die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him!…"

Matthew 24:11-13

"…11 and many false prophets will arise and mislead many. 12 Because of the multiplication of wickedness , the love of most will grow cold. 13 But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.…"
