Obeying God

When your decision violates the Word of God then it was not coming from God. God does not violate His Own Word.

Hearing the Voice of God

The Holy Spirit warns us until we have read that part of the Bible that gives the answer.

Every time I was not sure I prayed, searched the Word and found the answer.

But the Holy Spirit made me uncomfortable before I even knew something was wrong.

That sense that something is just not right is what should prompt us to go to the Word and prayer for our answers.

Listen to that still small voice from God, you will know it when you hear it.

John 10:27 "27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

Those Who Love Their Sin are not Born Again

We are saved by grace and grace alone. We cannot lose our salvation because we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise as a Guarantee of our salvation.

Ephesians 1:12-14 "…12 in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, would be for the praise of His glory. 13 And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth— the gospel of your salvation— you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the pledge of our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession, to the praise of His glory.…"
However:................................

Grace is was not extended to be able to sin, it was extended to those who are repentant and want to be changed into a new creation by Christ Who gives us the power to stop sinning. Anyone who claims they can sin all they want have never been born again. Those who are born again hate sin as much as God does. They are miserable when they do it and confess quickly to be cleansed.

1 John 1:9 was written to believers.
Matthew 7:21-23 was written about non believers who think they are believers.

Hebrews 12:5-7 was written to believers:
"…5 And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not take lightly the discipline of the Lord, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you. 6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives as a son.” 7 Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?…"

Romans 6:1-7 "6 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?
2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?
3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
7 for he who has died is freed from sin."

Boasting is not for God's People

People who boast about themselves are probably not what they think they are in reality. Those who are strong need not boast.

There is a difference in sharing a joy the Lord has brought and boasting about one's own accomplishments.

"A joy shared is twice a joy, A trial shared is half a trial."

Proverbs 17:22
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
"11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing."

You know a true friend, they are someone who loves to rejoice with you and will weep with you when things are difficult. They will never judge your experiences as silly or unworthy of response.

A kind person loves to engage in your experiences with you. A narcissist is a person who loves to see you fail, even claiming you failed when you did not.  Remember who is whom and choose your friends wisely.

Those who wish to dominate you are not your friends. True friends will tell the truth all the time but will not gain pleasure in competitiveness with you. True friends receive a correction as a chance to evaluate themselves, they do not fight, argue or punish those who love them enough to tell the truth.

2 Corinthians 10:12-13 "12We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they show their ignorance. 13We, however, will not boast beyond our limits, but only within the field of influence that God has assigned to us—a field that reaches even to you.…"

Titles are not for God's People

Those who love to give themselves titles to feel important might have never read this passage from God's Word.

Matthew 23:6-8
"…6 They love the places of honor at banquets, the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 the greetings in the marketplaces, and the title of ‘Rabbi’ by which they are addressed. 8 But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.…"
