The Can Feel Him, Christ in Us

Even if believers don't say much, the Holy Spirit in them is evident to others around them.

John 16:7-9 "…7 But I tell you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He comes, He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 in regard to sin, because they do not believe in Me;…"

Where is the Holy Spirit? He is in every believer, that's why when rebellious people are in our presence they feel uncomfortable. They think its something about us, but it is really the Holy Spirit in us.

What Submission is Not

The Nature of Biblical Prophesying in the Gathering

When we read in the Word the nature of modern day prophesying we must understand that it has nothing to do with future telling, that would violate other scriptures that tell us not to look into the future.

1 Corinthians 11:4-5 " 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for it is just as if her head were shaved.…"

This prophesying did not have to do with future telling it had to do with expounding on the Word of God already written. When we prophesy in the gathering it is not new information, it all comes from the Bible.

1 Corinthians 4:6-7 "6 Brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written.” Then you will not take pride in one man over another. 7 For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?…"

1 John 2:26-27
"26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. 27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, [a]you abide in Him."

Rest From the Mandates of the Culture

Yep, once again the greeting card industry piles up the money from all the holidays they have created that force people to feel guilty if they don't buy one of their cards. LOL, LOL!!!!!

How many people are manipulated by the holiday fanatisism that comes around nearly every two months, there seems to be no rest from it.

Let's see what has been added in the past few years, yep, Grandmother's day, National Secretary Day, Honor your pastor day, National Boss day and many others, its becoming a joke.

Is anyone else laughing with me?

Since the Bible does not command any of these holidays I feel free not to participate. I honored my parents with cards because they expected it, but I am releasing my children from any obligation to do these holidays. If they choose to honor me that will be their choice, not my expectation.

Mother's Day is a Man Made Concoction, Don't Worry About It

May every mother remember that "Mother's Day" was not ordained of God, however respect for her was! Do not feel badly if you do not receive something on Mother's day, for many it is only a meaningless gesture to relieve the guilt of children who have not demonstrated the honor they should have the rest of the year.

If there has been honor and respect every other day of the year, then there is no need of a card.

All the holidays were added by the greeting card companies to sell cards. There is no such holiday mentioned in the Bible as "Mother's Day". I would rather my children treat me with honor and respect all year long, than for them to treat me disrespectfully most of the time and send me a card once a year.

It is not surprising to understand this when God hates our man made holidays, when people pretend these holidays are about Him but ignore Him every other day of the year. Mothers and Fathers can understand how God must have felt when He rejected the holidays that pretended to be about Him, but in reality were all about their own pleasure and revelry.

Amos 5:21-23
"21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols."

Please Mothers and Fathers, do not allow the holidays to dictate your emotions, they are not a measure of God's Love or even our children's love.

Christ died on the cross, He bled out for our sake and yet there is little mention of it by those He died for.

Believers celebrate this incredible sacrifice on our behalf in the Lord's Supper today, we remember Him, what He did and His resurrection as the fulfillment of His promise. This is the celebration the Lord commanded us to observe every time we come together in our gatherings. Hallelujah!!!!

The Trap of Appearances

We cannot fully trust people but we can fully trust God. When we fully trust God then we can love people while evaluating what they say and do in honesty.

There are those who remain superficial, they are more comfortable with appearances than truth. When we are dedicated to truth we can walk in it without feeling angry or hurt by anything others do or say. We can allow others to be themselves around us when we don't expect them to be what we want them to be.

No one is on a pedestal, everyone is treated with kindness and perfection of man is not important. Those who cannot love unless they see someone in perfection, do not love at all, they love the illusion and cannot face reality.

Do Not Fall Into Their Trap

In these last days we will encounter many situation in which the devil is attempting to get us to sin through our responses to evil.

We do not have to fall into his trap, we can remain true to Christ while walking away.

Not telling the truth, calling things what they are is a form of manipulation. When we withhold information it leaves everyone with a question that could easily be answered. Of course we manage our truth, we don't throw our pearls before swine and we don't divulge personal information to a gossip, but we can be honest in normal human relationships to avoid misunderstandings. One of the hardest things I have endured in my life have been the know-it-alls, those who think they know everything about your life while judging completely unimportant matters.

We need to be able to be honest in a kind way without blame or judgment. Calling things what they really are is the only way for finding a solution.

If we have done this and a solution is impossible, then we are to leave that situation and sometimes even people in our lives to remain at peace with God.

Those who judge people over small matter, even blowing those small matters out of proportion without knowing all the details, are not friend material.

There is an old saying that has served me well over the years, that is "nip it in the bud", meaning take care of things quickly. When you want to say no to someone, do it now, don't allow them to believe you want to go along with them out of fear of their reaction, tell the truth immediately. This will help us discern if the relationship is going to enhance your walk with Christ or whether it will hinder the walk. The reaction of others to our "no", will tell us something about the relationship.

Telling the truth does not mean we manipulate people's feelings to express our own opinions about silly things such as "the style of their hair", or the color of the walls in their house. Just because we may not like the way they do their hair or their choice of colors does not mean those things are bad or worthy of comment.

Often people foist on us their opinions about our personality styles as well as likes and dislikes as though they are sin issues. Often superior people judge the smallest matters merely to diminish another person, these people need to be ignored and avoided.

In my opinion, it is best not to express our opinions about small matters that are not associated with character or sin. Everyone has a personality that is expressed in their day to day lives, they have a right to that, their way is no better or worse than someone else's way. We can all learn new ways but people don't generally learn from insulting comments, they learn because they want to, not because they have been intimidated into it.

Those who use mocking and intimidation to control the feelings of others are not worth our time or energy.

Proverbs 6:12-16
"A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech, winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, points with his finger, with perverted heart devises evil, continually sowing discord; therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing."

We can pray for those who are predisposed to arrogance and manipulation while allowing God to deal with them His own way. We can trust Christ for our own responses and for their chastisement.

Proverbs 28:1-28
"The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. When a land transgresses, it has many rulers, but with a man of understanding and knowledge, its stability will long continue. A poor man who oppresses the poor is a beating rain that leaves no food. Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive against them. Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it completely. ..."
