The Truth Always Offends Someone

No Family Curses

We make our own choices, and there are no "curses" on families. There are only influences that we choose to follow or not to follow.
No one forces another person to make their choices. We all choose ourselves based on our own heart condition.
I never pray against "curses" because the Bible does not teach this false doctrine.
I pray that God will work in the lives of individuals to bring them to Himself, His way without my interference is the best way.
A stubborn person cannot be led to the Lord by the very person they despise because of their commitment to Christ.
Luke 9:59-60
"59 To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 60 And Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
We must follow hard after Christ, witness when led by the Holy Spirit, and walk away to let God when someone will not hear us.
Matthew 10:14
"And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town."
Remember, anyone can ask God themselves if they really want to know and they can ask us if they really want to know. We need not run after someone who is stubborn and resistant to truth.
2 Timothy 4:3 "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,"

Exploits of our Own About God's Work

I have enjoyed from time to time reading the stories of others who served the Lord. However, let's not let our only stories be those of others.
If we seek the Holy Spirit and obey Him we will have our own stories to tell.
Sometimes basking in the glow of someone else's stories satisfies too much, meaning it keeps us from hearing from God for our own lives.
There is such a thing as vicariously living out our lives through the exploits of others. Never allow the stories of others to keep us from our own exploits for God.
Ephesians 5:1-33
"Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
We are not to imitate men, but we are to imitate Christ. When we obey Him we will have our own stories to tell the encourage others.
1 Thessalonians 2:13
"And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers."
