Last Days Self Love

Doing Life God's Way
Narcissists always have a higher opinion of themselves than is warranted. They see themselves as gods, that's why they think they are doing the lord's work, their own.
Sadly in the church today there is a mentality that says "as long as it works God is alright with it." This is patently wrong. God cares that we do things His way as shown to us in the Bible.
Just because something appears to work does not mean it was God who endorsed it.
If something is against the Bible then it should not be done even if it does appear to work.
Psalm 27:11
"Teach me Your way, O Lord,
And lead me in a level path
Because of my foes."
Exodus 33:13
"Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, let me know Your ways that I may know You, so that I may find favor in Your sight. Consider too, that this nation is Your people.”
Psalm 25:4
"Make me know Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths."
Psalm 86:11
"Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name. "
Sadly in the church today there is a mentality that says "as long as it works God is alright with it." This is patently wrong. God cares that we do things His way as shown to us in the Bible.

"Honor Your Father and Mother"
This does not say honor only the father or only the mother, we are to honor both.
Proverbs 6:20 "My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother."
What does "honor" look like? It's not gift-giving, it's valuing the person above yourself. Treating them with kindness and respect even when you don't agree with them.
Can you give me some other ways that honor manifests itself?

The only hero we ought to have in our lives is Jesus Christ.

They Influence Us
They Influence us more than We Influence Them:
When we have unkind and mean companions we may begin to act like them even without realizing it.
"More is caught than taught." We influence others by our actions more than our words and our friends do this too.
We become what we spend a lot of time with, we know this because Christians are taking on crass language from the culture that in generations past would never come out of their mouths. They are being influenced by culture.
The culture has been influenced to fight for their rights and think of themselves first, we see this in most Christians today too. Since self is on the throne there is no need to listen to anyone else or consider them in our actions.
What was bad in past generations does not look so bad anymore because it is common.
