The Only Teacher We Need is the Holy Spirit

James 1:4-6 "…4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.…"
No one has an excuse; "I didn't know", we can all ask God.
It is exciting what God shows us when we simply ask Him to show us anything we believe that is not of Him. When we ask for the strength and resolve to let go of anything we were taught that was not truth He blesses us with exciting answers.
God's Word, the Bible, is so full of wonderful things but without the help of the Holy Spirit to enlighten His Word, we will not understand it as we should. Reading it in our own human minds or according to the culture around us will bring false understanding.
John 16:13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you."
God never said human teachers would lead us into truth, He said it would be the Holy Spirit.
1 John 2:27 "And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him remains in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you remain in Him."
Those who elevate men above the Holy Spirit to gain their wisdom will walk in continual error. They might believe some right things but much of what they accept for truth will not be according to the Bible.
Romans 3:3-4 "…3 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? 4 Certainly not! Let God be TRUE and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that You may be proved right when You speak and victorious when You judge.”"
Placing our faith in any human teacher is to diminish the Holy Spirit. Everyone we believe we can trust must be compared to the Scriptures, what is not right exposed and what is right taught vigorously. We must never allow any man to take the place of the Holy Spirit and every man no matter how educated must be teachable, if he is not he will fall into arrogance and much error.
2 Timothy 2:23-25 "23 But reject foolish and ignorant speculation, for you know that it breeds quarreling. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to be taught himself, and forbearing. 25 He must gently reprove those who oppose him, in the hope that God may grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth."
Every teacher must be teachable, if he is not he is disqualified to be a teacher.
It is amazing how our modern translations have caused misunderstandings. The KJV of this verse says the teacher must be "able to teach", but in the original language it means "teachable himself."
The ability to teach is in everyone who has the Holy Spirit, we can all be teachers of the word.
Hebrews 5:12-14
"12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the actual words of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.
14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to distinguish between good and evil."
God expects all His children to diligently study to show themselves approved so that they can teach others. When we see a mentality that only those educated by men are able to teach we are negating what God said in His Word. God never commanded anyone to go to a seminary to learn about God, He commanded that we read the word and hear from the Holy Spirit. There can be no better teacher than the Holy Spirit and every born-again believer has Him living in them. Why on earth would I run to a man when I can run to God for my wisdom.

Christianity vs Cults Lines are being Blurred

I am grieved that so many "Christians" are falling into the trap of believing that the cults are just another denomination. They are embracing people who are walking in rebellion against God as though they are brothers and sisters in Christ. This fits with the phrase God uses when He says; "even the elect will be fooled" in the last days.
Ezekiel 13:9
"9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD."
All those cults that follow men, such as Joseph Smith, Ellen G. White, and others began with false visions from the power of devils to create their false Christianity. If we embrace those who follow these false systems we are enabling demonic beliefs as well as negating God's Word that warns us not to have fellowship with these religions based on demonic prophets.
Everyone one of these religions uses their own prophets' books far more than they use the Bible and they interpret the Bible according to their favorite prophets' interpretations not what God actually said. They also add to the scriptures many things that negate as well as being opposite of what God said. They are all works-based religions that teach self-effort to reach heaven.
Seventh-Day Adventism who follow Ellen G. White,
Chrislam mixes some Christianity with Islam
Catholicism that elevates the Pope and Mary above Christ
Christian Science started by Mary Baker Eddy
Jehovah's Witness started by Charles Taze
Mormonism started by Joseph Smith
These cults have a form of religion but deny Christ by their added beliefs that are not in the Bible. They claim they believe in Him but they pervert principles about Him resulting in a different Jesus entirely.
Any version of the gospel that denies the doctrine of grace and says you have to do something to be saved apart from believing in Jesus and repenting of your sins. is a false gospel of works.
With the onset of the ecumenical movement, we have seen a steady growth of "Christians" who are confused about whether or not a cult might be Christian or if they can be saved.
The truth is anyone who remains in a system with a false gospel is endorsing that system. It is my belief that the Holy Spirit would speak clearly to a born-again believer to get out of a system that is based on false doctrine from a prophet after the Bible was written.
We have no need for more prophets, God gave us all we need in the Bible, no new revelation comes from God. All the revelation we need, and all the principles we need are already in the Bible.
Someone might ask if something is a religion does that mean it is acceptable. The answer is really quite simple, all forms of faith are religions, and even belief in evolution is based on the religion of Darwinism. Christianity is the only faith that is based on a relationship with Christ Who lives in those who have trusted in Him.
It is not a "religion" it is a relationship in which we communicate daily and moment by moment with the Son of God Who is also God and lives in us.
Our relationship with Christ is not based on a human idea of rules and regulations. When Christ lives in us He works in us, He gets all the glory, we are His temple, we have no need of a building we call a temple. We are not following a set of rules but living out the character of Christ Who lives in us.
The fruit of the Spirit of Christ Who lives in us is mentioned here:
Galatians 5:22-23
"22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
Laws and rules are for the law and rule breakers, we don't need them because we desire to do what is right, we are not forced or fearful we love God's ways.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "16 Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.…"
I have no need for a law that says I should not steal because I don’t want to steal, I hate stealing, it is not a part of who I am in Christ.
Those who like to steal must have a law to keep them from stealing. Those who steal want to do it therefore they need a law to deter them.
1 Timothy 1:8-10 …8 Now we know that the law is good if one uses it legitimately. 9 We realize that law is not enacted for the righteous, but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for killers of father or mother, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave traders and liars and perjurers, and for anyone else who is averse to sound teaching.”
One of the things that is happening in these end times in preparation for people to accept the antichrist is the blurring of lines between true Christianity and the cults. More and more "Christians" are defending cults as being just another denomination when in fact they are abominations to God.
Matthew 7:15
"15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."
These wolves are all around us, they pretend Christianity but negate the Bible, the character of Christ as well as His sacrifice on the cross through their belief that we can add anything to what He did to save ourselves. This is horrendous and against everything, the Bible teaches.
Beware, do not believe someone simply because they are "nice people." One of the tactics of the devil is to come as an angel of light disarming weak people who do not know the Bible.
2 Corinthians 11:13-14 "…13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. "
Sincerity, happiness and friendliness are not evidence of truth in someone's life. Test the spirits to see if they are of God, many are going to be fooled by flowery language and pleasant sounding events.
