Solutions Rather Than Excuses

We can and should comfort those in distress but we should never "enable" them by giving excuses that do not involve solutions.

Asking in Faith

No excuse for not knowing truth, we can always ask God!

James 1:4-6 "…4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.…"

Mental Illness a Misnomer

Mental Illness isn't "illness."

There is no scientific test one can do to measure mental illness, it is a concoction of the psychological community to explain the unexplainable.

Many of the "mental illnesses" of today are nothing more than demonic oppression or possession.

Why is it that when someone has bi-polar or turrets syndroms, they always become more vile with a demonstration of anger and filthy language?

Why do these mental illnesses never create a sweeter spirit, kinder language and words that edify?

The answer is simple, those who have these illnesses nearly always, if not always, are living rebellious lifestyles contrary to the will of God. They even go so far as to speak in voices that are not their own.

Demons can bring on physical changes in people, even chemical imbalances as well as other physical maladies. There is far more demonic activity in our day than most people would like to admit.

1 Timothy 4:1 "1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons."

2 Corinthians 2:11 "11 in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes."

James 2:19 "19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder."

Matthew 12:43-45 "43 “Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came’; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation.”

Vain Ritual Has No Value

There are people who observe the Passover thinking that there is a spiritual high that comes from the attempt to remove from their homes all the leaven in the cupboards.

What is so interesting about this is that it is impossible to remove all the leaven without throwing out ALL the food. Nearly all food these days has leaven in it in one form or another.

The cupboards would be bare and the thing it really proves is that no one can remove the leaven from their own lives completely, that's why Christ had to die to be our sacrifice.

There are those who will work to remove the leaven from their cupboards at the season of Passover, but make no attempt to remove the leaven from their own hearts the years long.

It is far more important for believers to pray for cleansing of their hearts, confessing sin on a regular basis, than it is for them to demonstrate the futility of removing it from their cupboards.

Joel 2:13 " 13 And rend your heart and not your garments." Now return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness And relenting of evil. "

Matthew 15:17-19 "…17“Do you not yet realize that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then is eliminated? 18 But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a man. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander.…"

Appearances are far more important in the modern church than authenticity of heart. There is a lot of phony play acting going on, we know because as soon as someone is corrected or rebuked about their walk with Christ, vile anger emerges from them as though it were an explosion waiting to happen at the slightest challenge.

Authentic believers are ashamed when they have been discovered to be sinning even if only in attitude. Fakers are enraged when shown their sinfulness, even becoming more belligerent than before, covertly and even overtly demonstrating their anger and contempt at the very idea that anyone would call them to account.

2 Timothy 4:2-4 "…2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.…"

Narcissists Play the Victim

Narcissists often play the victim over petty and silly things to take the weight of guilt from their own shoulders.

Often the guiltiest of people will accuse others of the very thing they are doing and the others are not.

The religious Pharisees accused Christ of doing miracles by the power of the devil when the Pharisees were controlled by devils themselves.

When we see this happening in our world today we know that it is not unique to this time in history. It has been happening since the Garden of Eden when the snake called God a liar and deceiver, and when Christ encountered the "religious leaders" of His day.

The devil attempted to influence Eve, succeeding in convincing her, that God was not telling her the whole truth, withholding something from her to have power over her. Notice an interesting things here, Eve did not go to Adam or God to ask if this were true, she chose to believe the devil because of the rebellion in her own heart. She was hearing what she wanted to hear, her itching ears were burning as she became excited about her new found freedom to disregard God. Often modern Christians choose to believe the teachings that elevates them and approves of their sin.

The devil is doing this with adult children today and even extended family members of all ages. He is causing division and hatred by lying to people in their minds as they ponder things they think are their own thoughts based on logic, but in fact are thoughts the devil is implanting in their minds. The irrational thing is made to seem rational.

If it were not the devil influencing people, the affected people would be asking those for which they have contempt, to show them their own version of the facts, and even going to God to learn the truth, to dispel any sense of hatred they are feeling for others. Hatred is food for the narcissist, they enjoy hating others and enjoy even more causing others to hate as they react to the injustice and unkindness.

Those who love their contempt, nurture it by concocting evil where there is none, are being controlled by devils. I have seen this personally, the utter irrationality of those who would refuse to discuss matters to come to an understanding, they merely lean into the lies, even acting on them as though they are judge and jury over the one they hate.

Yes, contempt and concocted lies are hatred with intent to harm the object of the contempt. The harm comes in the form of gossip, judging without bothering to discuss matters and treating with unkindness to cause hurt feelings.

Narcissists want to cause hurt feelings, it makes them feel powerful as they look down their nose at those they perceive to be weak. What they do not understand is that it is the narcissist who is weak, they prey on the agony of others in order to feel whole or superior. Without the sense of superiority the narcissist withers.

2 Timothy 3 describes in detail the mentality of these types to warn us what we are up against and what our response to it should be.

Avoiding these people is paramount to a healthy spiritual life. The devil lurks in their hearts, if not by possession likely by control of their minds.

1 Peter 5:7-9 "…7 Cast all your anxiety on Him (Christ), because He cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.…"

In our day, these last days before Christ comes, we will encounter much persecution on every level in every community. It is a help and a blessing to know what we are encountering and what to do about it.

In verse 5 of 2 Timothy 3, we are told to remove ourselves from such people, however, if we do encounter them, without the possibility of escape, we are to obey Luke 6:27.

Luke 6:27 "27 But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. "

When we know what we are dealing with and how to handle it, we can be free from guilt that we did not return evil for evil. The narcissist is never guilt free, but we can be if we obey Christ.

If we obey Christ we remain guilt free and there is a peace that passes any human understanding. Hallelujah!
