Narcissistic Response to Disagreement

We have a tradition in this country of allowing demonstrations as long as they are peaceful. We don't have to agree with the demonstrators, but there is no good sense in "counter demonstrating" in order to create violence.

The best way to combat a demonstration that is peaceful that we may not agree with, is to ignore them. To go to the streets to prevent the freedom of speech simply because we disagree is not the legacy of this country.

There are factions in this country who operate from the standpoint that only they should have a right to express their views. If someone does not agree with them, they see it as their right to prevent their freedom of speech.

I condemn violence on the part of anyone. I condemn the racism that spawned "Nazism" or "White Supremicism." These people are wicked and need the gospel. However, as long as they are peaceful, no one has the right to kill them or damage their businesses and property.

We must remember that there are many things in this country we disagree with, that does not give us the right to riot, attack or destroy the property of others.

Believers, I really hope you will not become overcome with the desire to destroy others over disagreement. We can speak truth, bring the gospel and refuse to engage in verbiage that is designed to incite those with whom we disagree.

The more godless this country becomes, the more we will see senseless demonstrations and senseless violence. The narcissistic mentality of those who choose to hate whether it is the liberals who hate righteousness or the white supremisists who hate righteousness, both factions are on their way to hell, neither one is right in how they think or what they do.

Those who demonstrated and those who counter demonstrated in Charlotte Virginia were wicked and on their way to hell. Both sides need to find their way to Christ, repenting from their selfish and mean spirited attitudes. We know who is behind this mess and it's not the people themselves, they are merely pawns. The devil is behind this, he is the one controlling their minds as they remain defenseless against his ploys and lies.

What should be the response of the born again believer to all this? The answer is quite simple, our mandate from God, our marching orders, are to bring the gospel to these lost and miserable people. Taking sides is not very useful when both sides are wicked.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
"4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away."

Training to Remain Christ Like

Jesus Christ was reviled, but He never returned hate to the one who attacked Him.

When we are reviled, we remain calm and kind. What they do with our kindness is not our business, we must not allow their reactions to motivate us to act the way they act, out of control and vengeful.

I praise the Lord that every new test can make us kinder, stronger and more Christ like.

Romans 12:18-20 "…18 If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 On the contrary, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head.”…"

That is not to say that we must remain in the presence of those who continually attack us. We can move on with a clear conscience, as we choose to respond in a Christ like manner.

2 Timothy 3:5 "5 (these people) having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!"
