Jesus Christ was reviled, but He never returned hate to the one who attacked Him.
When we are reviled, we remain calm and kind. What they do with our kindness is not our business, we must not allow their reactions to motivate us to act the way they act, out of control and vengeful.
I praise the Lord that every new test can make us kinder, stronger and more Christ like.
Romans 12:18-20 "…18 If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 On the contrary, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head.”…"
That is not to say that we must remain in the presence of those who continually attack us. We can move on with a clear conscience, as we choose to respond in a Christ like manner.
2 Timothy 3:5 "5 (these people) having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!"
