When we believe God and His Word it will result in obedience to Him and rejection by most people. Often we find ourselves with very few friends even within the Christian community. Most people are deeply invested in fitting into the culture. They think, "if everyone else thinks this way it must be right."
Matthew 7:13-14 "The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it."
John 10:9 "I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture."
Isaiah 35:8 "And there will be a highway called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not travel it—only those who walk in the Way—and fools will not stray onto it."
Rejecting the cultural Christianity I grew up with to embrace and enjoy a relationship with Jesus Christ. A place to come and share thoughts about almost anything. Especially things of the Lord. Please no Anonymous posts, I enjoy knowing who is writing to me.

Nullifying the Word of God by Our Traditions
Genesis 2:24 "24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh."
When we look at a married couple after they walk down the aisle after their vows, their fleshly bodies remain two separate people. We see two people, not only one fleshly body, walking down that aisle. This is why I believe that when God said "you shall become one flesh," it meant they would no longer operate independently in the flesh. They will operate as a unit even though each one has a different function within the one flesh unity.
When I have physical problems that I go to the doctor for, my husband does not have that problem because we are separate in the flesh. However, he does have empathy for me because we are one in the spirit, and I for him when he is ill.
When God makes two people one in the spirit, they walk in unity of the flesh.
When we operate in life as a unit in the flesh, we still remain separate people, each doing our calling that supports and enhances the life of the person we have been joined to in the spirit.
I have heard many times the sense of regret that never goes away when two people divorce. Even though they have separated in the flesh, there is a sense of emotional connection that never leaves just because the state allowed for a divorce.
Divorce does not dissolve the spiritual union it only divides the spoils and separates the flesh, but it does not separate the spiritual union.
I am convinced there is a spiritual connection to any children from the union that God created in the marriage. When people walk away in the flesh from their spiritual union, it causes deep distress in the children of that union.
Those who divorce who are honest will tell you they sense a loss that never goes away when they divorce their covenant spouse, the first person they married for the first time.
This is why God said if someone divorces they are to remain single, the second marriage never connects the same way the first one does because it is adultery in the eyes of God and the spirit of the individuals is not melded together.
Luke 16:17-18 "17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for a single stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law. 18 Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."
The modern idea that a marriage can be completely severed by a decree of the state, allowing for a new union with another, is absolutely wrong, and the devil loves it.
The devil loves it because it destroys any possibility of reconciliation between the separated covenant spouse when one of them pretends to remarry another.
1 Corinthians 7:11 "(but if she does leave, she must remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband is not to divorce his wife."
Mark 7:13 "13 thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.”
