We are lost entirely as a country when a jury can take days to decide the fate of a woman who murdered her three innocent children. No less than the death penalty should be required for those who brutally murder children.
And life in a mental institution or a jail is not justice for those children, or for the society that must pay for her for the rest of her life, three hots and a cot, as well as medical care on the public dime.
My prayer is that Lansay repent, trust in Christ, and be cleansed of the devil who motivated her. This would gain her heaven, but it would not remove the debt she must pay for the murders and to society.
Genesis 9:6 ""Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed, for in the image of God has God made mankind."
Romans 13:3-4 "Rulers do not "bear the sword in vain" because they are agents of wrath to punish wrongdoers."
Acts 25:11 ""If I am guilty of doing anything deserving death, I refuse not to die." Paul did not view the death penalty as evil or unjust.
When we hold human life valuable, then we require a life in return; it is God's justice.
