Respect is Gone

In our day young people are often so sensitive, even the mildest suggestion is seen as a threat, even when we are right.

It is impossible to maintain a relationship with narcissistic children and children in law when just being ourselves in friendly terms is a balancing egg shell walking act, all the time.

Sadly young people these days do not accept anyone who doesn't think just like they do. What kind of relationship is it when one person says and does everything they want while the other walks in fear of doing or saying anything.

I can't live that way. I am not so desperate to have my children that I am willing to act like a non-entity to keep them around.

I spend much of my prayer time asking the Lord to save the children, if they become born again they will understand the nature of respect and God's kind of love.

Those who are confident within themselves don't feel the need to dominate, control and intimidate others. They allow others to be themselves, while speaking their mind respectfully.

Snappishness and rolling eyes are not respect, they are an attitude of superiority with undertones of intimidation and contempt. There is no love in these responses.

Love does not seek to dominate and demean another brother or sister, love cares deeply to understand others. When there are superficial judgments based on little information, there is no love. When we seek to understand someone, we ask questions to learn, not to intimidate or belittle, but to learn about them. And, we ask the one we want to understand, not someone else.

Gossip in an attempt to destroy relationships for self glory are wicked and NOT LOVE. Keep in mind, all gossip only tells half truth, the whole truth is never expressed while untruths are added to embellish.

1 Peter 1:21-23 "21 Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him; and so your faith and hope are in God. 22 Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth, so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart. 23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.…"

Romans 12:9-11 "9 Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another. 11 Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.…"

There is a saying I have seen on the internet that hits home for many people, it goes like this;

"Some people pretend we are bad because it makes them feel better about how badly they have treated us."
