Ten Hallmarks of a True Christian Versus A False Convert

The Coming One World Religion

False Converts in the Church

God's Child or Bastard Child?

Hebrews 12:7-9 "…7 Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8 If you do not experience discipline like everyone else, then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9 Furthermore, we have all had earthly fathers who disciplined us, and we respected them. Should we not much more submit to the Father of our spirits and live?…"

There are those who boast that they must be good because they are not disciplined by God. They are the ones to worry about.

Their Chosen Belief Based on Jealousy

Narcissists choose to believe what they want based on their desires not on truth. If they don't like you they will believe you are evil in every way. If they like you they will think you can do no wrong until you correct them or outshine them in some way.

Narcissists are mentioned in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, sadly this faction of the culture is growing exponentially. There are more of these people than ever before.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
“Difficult (ragingly insane) Times Will Come”
3 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these."

As we progress toward the tribulation age we will be hard pressed to find kind and loving people. When an entire culture becomes narcissistic there is no turning back time and returning to a better culture.

Narcissists by their very nature refuse to be corrected to grow. They prefer their elevated view of self rather than self-improvement.

Kind and loving people confess their flaws and sins to be able to grow better. The narcissist does not care about becoming better they only want to appear this way.

After all if one thinks they are already perfect in every way there is no need to admit flaws and sins. But the reality is that the narcissist is laden down with many flaws and sins that have never been confessed, taking them down the road toward bitterness and hatred.

Someone cannot love others when they are bitterly fighting to defend their superiority. The narcissists say in their heart they have no sin. How could they admit they have sinned if they believe they are perfect.

The truth is the narcissist doesn't believe they are perfect, we know this because they are deeply insecure, ready to battle at any suggestion they might be wrong. A secure mature human being does not immediately excuse and battle when they have been told they are wrong. At the very least the secure and mature human being thinks about it and comes to a decision based on truth. Or, the secure mature human being admits quickly when their flaw or sin has been pointed out to them.

1 John 3:8-10
8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 By this, the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother."

It is interesting too that the narcissist is quick to point out the flaws of others that are not sinning, but refuses to hear from others about their own.

Philippians 2:3-4 " 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others.…"

1 John 1:8-10 "…8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.…"

The narcissist attempts to shame those who do not elevate them as special. They cannot tolerate anyone who is confident or staunch in their resolve to follow Christ.

As born again believers our confidence is not in ourselves, its in Christs Jesus Who made us into a new creation. We have no need to feel special or be superior because there is One Who is superior that is Jesus Christ. He alone deserves praise and worship.

Narcissists are intimidated by those who love Christ because believers are so confident in their walk they don't need the narcissist to validate them. Narcissists want others to need them in order to feel whole. This is why the narcissist devalues and demeans those who love God, they are led by the devil to shame those who love Christ in an effort to reduce their faith and confidence in Him.

In these last days, we are watching this culture grow deeply into narcissism as well as the attacks against God's people increasing.

Don't let this discourage you one bit!!!!

James 1:2-8
"2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,
8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
