Are We Salt?

Have you ever tried to remove too much salt from stew by adding more things, can't seem to tone down that saltiness.

Salt, has flavor, preserves, stings in a wound and never goes away, just changes form.

Matthew 5:13-16

Believers Are Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

Ungodly Friends Will Corrupt You

1 Corinthians 15:33 "Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals."

God says that we are weak, because of that we must surround ourselves with those who love Christ.

2 Corinthians 6:17 "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,"

Colosians 2:8 "See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ."

1 Corinthians 2:14 "The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned."

Ephesians 5:11 "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."

When we have ungodly friends, if we are bold with them about the truth, they will run away most of the time. Very rarely does an ungodly person enjoy the company of those who are sold out to Christ.

If a believer can maintain a friendship with an ungodly person, then the believer is most likely compromising and capitulating to the ungodly person.

Those who brag that they have many ungodly friends, love the lifestyle of those friends, or they would be disgusted and run from it.

Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

Proverbs 4:23 "Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life."
