God has opened my eyes in recent years. The "Christian nation" mantra we learned early on in our lives was nothing more than an indoctrination to make ourselves feel safe.
God didn't call our president; he was voted in by the people. God took his hand off of America a long time ago because we demanded a government "for the people and by the people", so He gave it to us.
We can see what happens when He leaves us to ourselves. Just like in Israel, when they didn't want God to rule them anymore, He took his hand off and gave them a king like the other nations. It was a disaster because when people look to themselves, they no longer seek God.
Even the people who attend churches indulge in pleasure and self-promotion, as well as self-exaltation, deciding for themselves what would please God while denying Him by their disobedience to His Word, the Bible.
Today's Christian gatherings disobey more of the scriptures than they obey and call it good because they attend a large congregation in a building, pretending God commanded it. The gatherings have appointed seminary-educated people who have been trained in humanistic ways to control the people in those gatherings.
Rarely do we hear the congregations speaking of Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit, but they speak continually about "their church", and "their pastor." They truly have become social clubs with embedded rituals God never commanded.
1 Corinthians 14 describes the nature of the gathering, which is what God gave to us and what churches are dismissing.
If you want to know the truth about God's order of gathering and what it should accomplish, you must pray, asking God to show you, and be willing to put away everything that you have been taught by men and embrace wholeheartedly what Christ taught in His Word.
Christ is the Word, the very essence of His Own Word. The Holy Spirit can open your eyes to the truth and once that happen your life will never be the same. Your eyes can never be unopened again.
