Rejecting the cultural Christianity I grew up with to embrace and enjoy a relationship with Jesus Christ. A place to come and share thoughts about almost anything. Especially things of the Lord. Please no Anonymous posts, I enjoy knowing who is writing to me.

The Error in the Church began Hundreds of Years Ago
The modern church began hundreds of years ago when it instituted the one-man paid pastor system and took people from their homes into buildings. Then they began focusing on evangelism only for designated individuals within the building, so the pew-sitters did nothing to share the gospel with their family, friends, and neighbors about Christ.
The people became comfortable letting that one man do everything for them, even praying on their behalf. They didn't have to do anything, not even read their Bibles at home, because the one in the pulpit did everything on their behalf as though he were a mediator between them and God. Sounds familiar, doesn't it, much like the Catholic church.
Luther and Calvin left the Catholic church, but upon leaving, they took with them some of the same doctrines that were damaging to the body of Christ and reminiscent of their former religion.
No one was allowed to speak except those who were chosen by the leadership, and only if they had a degree of some sort. The leadership was treated as an authority over the people, totally unbiblical.
Matthew 20:24-28 "24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers.
25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.
26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Instructions to all born again believers, that everyone carry out their calling, every single one.
2 Timothy 4:1-2 "I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction."

Seeking Christ Rather than Men
There are so few people in the churches who care about following the Bible.
Mark 7:13 "13 Thus you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so in many such matters.”
Colossians 2:8 "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ."
Before Paul was born again, he was zealous for the traditions of men, even though they were against God.
Galatians 1:14 "I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers."
Galatians 5:4 "You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace."
1 Timothy 4:1-3 "Now the Spirit expressly states that in later times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons, influenced by the hypocrisy of liars, whose consciences are seared with a hot iron. They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from certain foods that God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth."
Many people who attend modern gatherings depend on their traditions of men rather than the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
Romans 10:3 "Because they were ignorant of God’s righteousness and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness."
The words of many "Christians" are grandiose and boastful about their religion but have little interest in seeking the heart of God through Christ.
Isaiah 29:13 "Therefore the Lord said: “These people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. Their worship of Me is but rules taught by men."
May all of us who love God seek His face and not the traditions of men.
They all follow their traditions dictated to them by men while ignoring most of the scriptures.
