If Christ is Our Focus

Those who are overly concerned about impressing people to the point of allowing them to walk all over them are just as much self focused as the narcissist.

The narcissist is selfish in desiring to be superior to others.
The empathic person often allows others to walk on them because of their fear of rejection.

Both people are self focused. When we are Christ focused we can do what is right without concern about how others will think of us. We also have no desire to be superior to others.

When Christ is our focus we can walk confidently in obedience to Him without a sense of having to please anyone. If God wants us to please someone, that is far different from our own fear of man's rejection.

We ought to want to serve others, but only if it is God's will. Often we serve others so they will like us as in the empaths case, or so they will see us as superior as in the case of the narcissist.

God's way of Christ-focus is the most freeing and the most satisfying. In order to do this we must make Him our guide, our confidant and our pleasure.

Matthew 6:33-34
"33 But [a]seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

When we are seeking God we will never worry about what others think of us or how they will treat us!

Romans 5:10
"10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life."

Walking with Christ

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

When we walk with the Lord we do the same thing Adam and Eve did in the garden, communicating all day long with God, in praises, requests, exclamations of His truth, our entire life is wrapped up in Him.

When we walk with Christ everything we do or that happens to us is interpreted in terms of Him.

We're Watching it Right Now!

Many years ago before WWII, the believers had to take it in faith that one day Israel would be back in their own land. Now we see that it has happened, as we watch prophesy playing out dramatically before our very eyes.

Perhaps the writers of the Bible will want to ask us what it was like seeing the very things they wrote but didn't understand.

How could the entire world see the anti-christ? Might be one of their questions. Now we know, television and internet, something that could not even be imagined by the prophets.

Believer, are you as excited as I am to watch God's Word playing out before your very eyes?!!!!

My big question is how could anyone in the church not be excited about this?

The Devil Lies

The devil lied to Eve, that what she wanted was to be like God just as the devil wanted for himself. Now the devil is lying again to convince people that Islam is peaceful when it is exactly the opposite.

If the world loves something you can be sure it will be the devil's work.

The first clue that something is wrong is that most people like it. Even in the churches today, if something becomes popular it is probably not from God.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 " 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.…"

No Pain No Gain?

People often say "no pain no gain" in terms of physical exercise but it is the spiritual exercise that builds character and faith in Christ.

In our world most people "major on the minors and minor on the majors" as some might say. As we grow in Christ we realize what a greater benefit to us and to glorify Christ, is our focus on the Spiritual.

1 Timothy 4:8 " 8 For physical exercise is of limited value, but godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for the present life and for the one to come."

Hard Wired to Know God

Mankind is hardwired to desire a god that is bigger than they! The god they choose is dependent on their level of rebellion. Most people want a god they can shape into their own image and that allows us to work our way to heaven. There seems to be false comfort in believing you can be good enough to earn heaven. Every other religion of the world is based on this false idea. What they don't realize is that the greatest peace of all comes when we know Christ did it all and all we have to do is trust in Him.

Romans 1:20-21 "20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts.…"
