No More Saving Merit

Nick Bevilacqua said:

"There is no more saving merit in believing that Jesus Christ is our Saviour and cries out to Him to save him or her, than there is saving merit in a man who is drowning and cries out to someone to help save his or her life. The saved one does not boast of his crying out to someone to save him but is rather humbled by the neccessity of having to depend on some one else to save him or her, and boasts of his or her saviour."

Bible is our Instruction Manual

The Bible is more than a book of good ideas. It is God's heart written to us that we can know His Will for our lives.

The purpose of obedience to Him is to glorify Him. When we obey we see His Spirit working in us, the more we obey the greater the spiritual blessing!

Far too many people are looking for physical blessings, health and wealth while caring little about becoming holy with boldness for Christ.

Showing off seems to be more important to this wicked generation than learning to walk with God.

Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

Do You Want Only His Stuff

I have seen it many times, those who attend church because they want the entertainment, to be told smooth words and God's protection, but they don't want Him.

I know what it looks like, when grown children want nothing to do with their parents in life, but they show up after the funeral because they want their parents stuff.

The apostate church are just like this, they want to claim blessings from God, they want to pretend they love Him, but they become angry when challenged to actually obey His word, the Bible.

One of the biggest clues that we are living in the end times is the lack of natural affection among family members. Everyone seems to be intent on "one upping" one another rather than sharing in the matters of life.

There is no real concern about anyone else, the 2 Timothy 3:1-6 passage has come home to roost, it is in evident in every family and getting worse.

We must keep our eyes on Christ, focused on His truth and provision. If we do that, then we will not pine away so severely for the love that is missing, in fact, the love that is from Christ in us will allow us to feel steady and secure in our walk.

We know that our brothers and sisters in the Lord are our family, we may even be relieved when unsaved and angry bio family remove themselves. The peace that comes from those who love the Lord will be far greater than anything we think we are missing.

1 Thessalonians 4:8-10 "Isaiah 1:18King James Version (KJV)
18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

1 John 3:15-16 "…15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer. 16 By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers."

John 13:35
"35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
