Keeping a Promise or Make None at All

Sometimes narcissists are sincere at the time they promise something but because they are led almost entirely by their feelings in the moment, when their feelings change they will feel justified in purposely dropping the promise when they think they have a good enough reason and they do make up reasons that do not exist.
Since narcissists make promises in the moment to manipulate or make themselves feel good, they have nothing to guide them when they decide they don't feel good anymore. And, their feelings take priority over truth and righteousness. Since the promises are never about the good of the other person there is no sense of love in avoiding hurting someone else. The narcissist's own desires and needs always take priority over others.
We have all promised things and later wished we could renege on that promise, but if we have integrity we ignore our feelings and do the right thing in keeping our promise.
Deuteronomy 23:21-23
"If you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin. But if you refrain from vowing, you will not be guilty of sin. You shall be careful to do what has passed your lips, for you have voluntarily vowed to the Lord your God what you have promised with your mouth."
Numbers 30:2
"If a man vows a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth."

Get Wisdom

"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs" (Col 3:16).
What a blessing it is to know that God knows us better than we know ourselves and has everything in His hands that pertain to our lives.
Walking with Christ is exciting every day as we ponder what He has done for us and continues to do for us.
It seems so easy to understand that Christ has a purpose for everything in our lives even the difficult things.
May our lips praise Him continually as we seek wisdom and discernment.
Proverbs 1:2-7 "2 To know wisdom and instruction,
to understand words of insight,
3 to receive instruction in wise dealing,
in righteousness, justice, and equity;
4 to give prudence to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the youth—
5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning,
and the one who understands obtain guidance,
6 to understand a proverb and a saying,
the words of the wise and their griddles.
7 the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction."
Next time you speak wisdom to those who have rejected it, remember that they have just revealed something about themselves. It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with their lack of desire for wisdom.
Those who desire wisdom ask continually for it in everything in their lives.
James 1:4-6 "…4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.…"
God will not ignore anyone who wants His wisdom.
