Second Timothy Three Plays Out Before Our Eyes

A lovely Christian sister sent me an article in the mail describing the Second Timothy three heart conditions of the end times. Because of a discussion we had she knew I would be interested in these definitions of the words in the passage 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

Here are some things she shared with me that may help us sit up and take notice. The descriptions in these passages seem ho-hum to us since we see them every day and we get through life not liking it but just letting it pass without too much emotion involved. In fact many people think what is happening now is normal.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

"PERILOUS" is translated from the Greek word "chalepos" meaning "RAGINGLY INSANE."

"FIERCE" in verse 3 has the same meaning that describes a demon possessed man in Matthew 8:28-29. The word is "chalepos" again.

In short, public insanity would be common in the last days. We see this all the time but it has been minimized by the use of the terms "mental illness" or "bi-polar."

One thing I notice about mental illness and other terms like bi-polar, is that they always involve bad behavior. Why do the mentally insane never get nicer or kinder? Everyone whom I know who has a mental illness and I have met many, really do act as if they are not in control of their own faculties.

The doctors tell us that there are chemical imbalances in the brain that cause these irrational responses. But remember that devils can cause physical maladies.

Luke 13:10-17
Healing on the Sabbath
10 And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.
11 And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had A SICKNESS CAUSED BY A SPIRIT; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all.
12 When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” 13 And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again and began glorifying God.
14 But the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, “There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”
15 But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites, does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him?
16 And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom SATAN HAD BOUND for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?”
17 As He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him."

Notice in verse 11 the sickness the woman had was caused by a demon, an evil spirit. Verse 16 tells us Satan had bound her.

The self righteous religious leaders were the ones who hated Jesus Christ for being greater than them. The jealousy against Him caused the religious leaders who wanted to be above everyone else to reject Christ. Do we not see this in our day too!!!!

Those who flock to the seminaries to study instead of locking themselves away with Christ for a few years, want more than anything to be superior to others.

In the process of this quest for dominance and superiority they buy into all kinds of foolish unbiblical teachings. When they are finally hired to be the one man leader in a church gathering they deceive the people, leading them astray, down the same path as the Pharisees in Jesus day.

The self righteous become unteachable and more staunch in their defense of wrong ways all to preserve their dominant and revered position. In short......its all about them and very little about Christ.

When we take an accounting of all the wrong beliefs in the modern Christian churches today we see a whole lot of error just to keep the bodies coming in the door. After all, more bodies means larger salaries.

When the salaried pastor is the one who is elevated by the rest of the congregation it is nigh unto impossible to have support to challenge his teaching. The paid hireling is worshiped more than Jesus Christ. Since the teachings of Jesus Christ are set aside to elevate the teachings of the hirelings.

John 10:12
"12 He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them."

The hireling does not care about protecting the sheep but only cares about his salary and a full happy gathering where only soft words are spoken and great swelling words of praise please the people.

I have actually witnessed hirelings who would intimidate members of the congregation when they attempted to challenge them on a scriptural matter. Rather than going to prayer and study together with those who differ, the pastor saw those questioning him as threats to his superiority and did all he could to intimidate them into silence.

These things are why so many godly people who love Christ and His word are leaving the formal gatherings. They want the pure word of God but are being fed baby food, so they leave. I am one of these.

We are now in a gathering that blesses us and blesses God. The Lord led us to it, but for four years we were without a gathering. For us it was more important to be alone than to be somewhere in which the teaching was not focused on Christ but modern ideas and rituals. It is a great blessing to be among people who have the same goal, that is to honor Christ and to grow in holiness. The Bible is searched for all truth and prayer that we are not led astray by strange doctrines.

We are watching 2nd Timothy 3 play out right now before our eyes. It is exciting as well as frustrating. Exciting because we know it is prophesy and we are watching exactly what God said would happen. It is frustrating because there are few who are aware of the devastation these end times bring to lives, as well as unaware that hell is a real place for those who refuse to hear the gospel.

My prayer is that many will repent and confess their need for Christ before it is too late.

It is not Wise to Compare Ourselves with Others

Many people think that selfish narcissists "need" attention, that they somehow were starved of it as a child. My observation has been that narcissists more often than not were given too much attention. They were pampered and coddled to the point where they found it hard to live without the constant praise and attention.

The narcissists I have met were given so much attention that they were like an addict looking for their next fix. These people would become jealous and angry if they saw anyone else having attention over something they accomplished.

YES, needing the attention of others to exist is an addiction just like any other drug. After awhile the narcissist has no "self" at all left, everything he is and does is based on who will notice it.

Those who are confident have no need of constant praise and adulation, they are secure and joyful when no one else sees what they do.

Perhaps this is a measure of a strong secure person, the ability to enjoy life or circumstances when no one else is interested or noticing our endeavors.

The personality that needs the attention of others is empty inside when there is no attention. It is human nature to share our joys and pains, there is nothing wrong with that, but in the case of the narcissist they cannot function without continual encouragement through praise.

The narcissist is addicted to elevation above others. Whether or not they are elevated is not important as long as they "feel" it is so, that is enough for them. The Pharisees were of this sort. They were not happy being who they thought they were, good and righteous, they had to be better than others.

Luke 18:9-14
The Pharisee and the Publican
9 And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’
13 But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’
14 I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

When we know that no one is righteous, only Christ, then there is no excuse for comparing ourselves to anyone else.

2 Corinthians 10:12 "For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding."

The most joyful person is the one who measures themselves by Christ, seeing their unworthiness because of Him, they accept that only He is good and that He lives in them. What a joy that we do not have to pretend anything, we can be what we are and depend on Christ to work in us, He then gets all the glory. Hallelujah!!!!!

No Such Thing as Losing Salvation

I am convinced that those who drift back were never born again. When we are attempting to do our Christianity under our own power we are eventually going to run out of fuel . When Christ changes us it is permanent, there is no drifting back to former things.

2 Corinthians 5:17
"17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

Did we get this? The old us is gone entirely never to return again.

Christ the Only One Who is Good

Some of the bullet points come from another video I watched. Because I don't agree with some of the things in the video I took from it things I have observed for myself. You may be able to add to these lists. One list are character traits of the manipulator and the other list are qualities of the good person.
Traits of evil people: They must be seen as perfect, even though everyone knows no one is perfect....oh except the evil person. Appearances are far more important than truth to this kind of person. If they cannot fool you to believe they are perfect, they will treat you with contempt.
1. Deny truth when it doesn't make them look good.
2. Withhold information to deter others from the truth.
3. Twist events and facts to make themselves look better.
4. Mislead others through gossip.
5. They lie constantly using "plausible deniability", in other words they lie in such a way as to cause confusion about what was really said.
6. Never sorry for their actions, only angry when caught.
7. Avoid responsibility for their actions. Deny their own bad attitudes.
8. Never loyal as a friend. They use people, abuse them and claim it was justified while lying to others that they did.
9. Manipulative for their own benefit.
10. They live double lives, only kind to those they wish to impress and mean to those for whom they have no respect, and, they only respect those who praise them.
11. They are controller, they only respect those whom they can control and love no one.
12. Evil people cannot grow and learn, they think they know everything and anyone who attempts to help them understand another way will be treated shamefully.
13. Evil people never give compliments because it elevates someone else temporarily, they cannot tolerate this. They expect compliments for every little thing they do.
14. The wicked person thinks they know everything. They cannot tolerate being corrected or disagreed with, they must be seen as the all knowing and perfect one.
Character Qualities of good people.
1. High level of confidence. They are not afraid to be themselves, admitting good and bad.
2. They share their thoughts and feelings as a way of sharing themselves. These people enjoy and value feed back from others so they can grow and learn. They are not afraid of being imperfect.
3. These people are not embarrassed at compliments and readily give compliments.
4. Good people enjoy acknowledging the accomplishments of others. They are far more focused on the relationship with a person than on being special or above.
5. Good people love to listen to respond. They love deeper conversations in which they and others can learn new things from one another.
If you want to be a good person and not just "seen" as one, then the way to do that is to confess your sinfulness and ask Christ to change you into a new creation. It is only through Christ that anyone can be truly genuine.
We have within all of us the propensity to think of ourselves in a good light, while denying our fallen humanity. Those who have been changed into a new creation by Christ can easily and readily say, "I know I am not perfect, in fact without Christ I am nothing."
The prideful evil person will say; "I'm a good person", even without any evidence of that, they will choose to believe it and become angry if someone else tells them differently.
Romans 3:23
"23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
Do you think you are special? I am here to tell you that you are not special and neither am I. It is only Christ Who is special. When we trust in Him then He gets all the glory for any good that is in us. That good is not based on deeds but on character that lead to good deeds.
Hallelujah its not about me its about HIM!!!!

A Better Education Only Makes a More Clever Criminal

People don't change just by changing their environment.

Putting a person in a new environment or giving them a better education does not change their character.

The character is what makes the person not what they do or how educated. An evil man will just become more clever in his evil behavior by educating him. A good person will act with integrity no matter where you place him. You may have heard the saying "give a blue collar criminal an education and he just becomes a white collar criminal."

The character of a person is not changed by the job they do or the place they live. If a person is taken out of the safe church environment and placed in a wicked environment and you see changes in that person to become more evil, then the evil was already there just hidden.

A righteous man will be righteous everywhere no matter what his environment. A wicked man placed among righteous people will merely learn to hide the evil that dwells within them to be accepted.

It is foolishness to think that if you bring a worldly non-believer into the churches they will learn to be a Christian or desire it. This is just not true. Non-believers who are coddled in the church will learn to modify how they act to be accepted as well as hide what they know is not accepted. They just learn to be better deceivers.

The idea that if you give a rebellious poor person an education he will learn to be good, is foolishness. Every evil man learns how to fit into his environment, if only to hide his real self to be accepted. This is what we see in the churches today. Many unsaved wicked people dwell in houses of God today. They have learned how to hide their real selves to appear righteous but in their hearts they are evil.

This is why we are encountering more accusations of sexual abuse being revealed in recent years. There was a time when these things were not spoken of but in a culture now that openly speaks out, those who have been abused are more angry than ashamed.

The churches today are filled with wicked people pretending to be good. They do know what they are doing is wrong that's why they hide it. If they believed what they were doing was alright then they would not hide it.

We are also seeing the acceptance of evil behavior by many Christians in the name of love. Its not love but that's the excuse used to be able to be friendly with everyone. After all, this culture thinks personal happiness is more desired than holiness. The personal gratification from being liked far outweighs any sense of real help for the sinner.

As we see the increase of coddling in the church we are also encountering the disapproval and anger toward the truth teller. Those who expose truth will be more likely to be rebuked and maligned than the one who is sinning.

Hebrews 12:11-12 " 11 No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a peaceful harvest of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. 12 Therefore strengthen your limp hands and weak knees.…"

This "just love them" mentality only makes the evil grow and in our time exponentially, it is not love at all. There is no stopping evil now, far too many people are rebuking the truth tellers in favor of tolerance while coddling the one who lives in sin.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Author Unknown

Our culture is spiritually weaker than ever before. Plagued by the fear of man, the fear of rejection and the loss of companionship the modern believer cowers before men as though men matter more than God does.

Proverbs 29:24-26 "…24 A partner to a thief hates his own soul; he receives the oath, but will not testify. 25 The fear of man is a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD will be set securely on high. 26 Many seek the ruler’s favor, but a man receives justice from the LORD."

When we coddle the sinner while rebuking the truth teller we are partaking in the evil of the one who sins. God counts us as sinning when we defend those who are sinning while rebuking those who speak truth.

Ephesians 5:6-8 "…6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them. 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,…"

Those who speak truth of the word of God are rejected, maligned and gossiped about. The weak kneed cowardly ones shrink at the slightest sign of disapproval. They have no boundaries while lacking integrity. These weak kneed ones become increasingly timid and frightened as the culture changes. Rather than stand up for righteousness they become just like the ones to whom they cower. They cower to the sinning one but somehow find strength in coming against the truth to preserve their standing with the wicked.

YES I did say "cowardly", because that's what most "Christians" are when it comes to speaking the truth so that someone will learn their need for Christ. Many believers are confused about truth because they have bought into every false good sounding doctrine that has appeared but has confuse. They do not challenge anything because cowards do not attempt to find truth. These cowards only care about happy companionship based on superficiality which is nothingness. Nothing of value comes from superficial demonstrations of Christianity. Even worse increasing disobedience and anger at correction has been the result of this false Christianity. No believer has an excuse to be deceived by the culture, they can always turn to Christ.

John 16:13-14 "13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you.…"

Those who have been indoctrinated into the ways of the world have no excuse, they could always ask God. God will give truth and strength to anyone who wants it.

James 1:4-6 "…4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.…"

My suggestion to all believers is to pray for truth and boldness. Not for boldness for its own sake but for Holy Spirit boldness as He is the One Who works in us.

If being accepted by man is causing fear of boldness in you, then man is your idol. Stop focusing on man and begin to focus entirely on Christ and you will see an amazing transformation in the way you think and whom you love more.

Its not the Lion Who Lies with the Lamb

There is no place in the word of God that says "the lion will lay down with the lamb."

Isaiah 11:5-7 "5 Righteousness will be the belt around His hips, and faithfulness the sash around His waist. 6 The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat; the calf and young lion and fatling will be together, and a little child will lead them. 7 The cow will graze with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox.…"

Interesting how an entire Christian culture can believe something God never said.
