As believers we can be sad and full of joy at the same time. I laughed at a joke the doctor made during labor with our first child.
I was hurting but joyful at what I knew was coming. The pain didn't make me depressed because the focus was on the coming blessing!
I feel that way now about my walk with Christ. I might cry in sadness over things once in a while but the joy never leaves me and I know the sadness is very temporary as I place my focus back on the coming blessing, the Lord of lords coming in the clouds for His Bride.
